Family Game Center Guide and Review

Located in the scenic city of Dinant, Belgium, the Family Game Center operates as a casino, offering various gaming machines to its patrons. Reviews for this establishment are notably polarized, presenting a stark contrast between highly positive experiences and profoundly negative ones.
The Upsides: Welcoming Gestures and Perks β¨
Some visitors have lauded the Family Game Center for its welcoming atmosphere and generous complimentary offerings. Patrons have reported being greeted with a slice of pizza upon arrival, and the availability of unlimited drinks (with certain exceptions) and even ice cream for dessert has been highlighted as a significant perk. One reviewer, Filipe Rebelo, shared a positive experience, noting that they either won a modest amount or broke even across two visits, appreciating the staff's role in ensuring a good time.
- Complimentary Offerings: Expect potential perks like free pizza slices, unlimited soft drinks, and ice cream, enhancing the visit's value.
- Friendly Service (for some): Some visitors praise the staff for being pleasant and welcoming, contributing to a positive ambiance.
- Gaming Outcomes: While gambling results are always uncertain, at least one visitor reported positive or neutral financial outcomes, emphasizing that the enjoyment of the game and the company were paramount.
The Downsides: Allegations of Unpleasant Staff and Machine Issues π
Conversely, a substantial number of reviews paint a much less flattering picture, particularly concerning staff conduct and the perceived fairness of the games.
Staff Conduct Concerns
Several patrons have described the staff as "very haughty," "contemptuous," and "unpleasant." Florine Quenon recounts multiple instances of staff making disciplinary comments, even for minor issues like not finishing a coffee, and felt that polite customers received less respect than disruptive ones. Abdel Alama echoed these sentiments, labeling the staff as "disgusting" and "really very unpleasant."
Machine Malfunctions and "Scam" Allegations
Serious accusations of machine manipulation and unfair practices have also surfaced. Abdel Alama, a seasoned player of 35 years, described the Family Game Center as the "worst games room" he has experienced. Specific complaints include machines "constantly ripping off" players and, critically, instances where a roulette machine allegedly blocked when a win occurred, resulting in the payout being withheld. Such claims lead to strong recommendations against visiting, with one reviewer metaphorically suggesting that playing money there is akin to flushing it down the toilet.
Understanding the Gaming Experience
It's important to approach any casino or gaming center with realistic expectations. As one reviewer, Jo Francois, aptly pointed out, the purpose of a gaming room is not to be a free bar, and if everyone consistently won, the business would not be sustainable. While some players might experience wins or break even, losses are an inherent part of gambling. The mixed reviews highlight that while some find the atmosphere and staff welcoming, others have faced significant frustrations regarding service and the integrity of the gaming machines.
Conclusion
The Family Game Center in Dinant appears to offer a highly variable experience. For those who prioritize complimentary amenities and enjoy the thrill of casino games, some visits can be positive and entertaining. However, prospective visitors should be aware of the consistent complaints regarding unpleasant staff interactions and serious allegations concerning game fairness. It is advisable to manage expectations, especially regarding potential winnings and customer service, before visiting.
I visited this place twice, seeing the reviews, I don't understand so much negativity. The first time, we were welcomed with a slice of pizza, drinks are always unlimited (except certain drinks), and ice cream for dessert. I won 15 euros in the end by being careful.Second time, I took for 15 euros and I first lost quite quickly before gaining a little, in the end, I neither won nor lost. I simply got back what I bet. On the other hand, I spoke with a person there and I had a good time there. The game being the game, if I had lost it wouldn't have been a big deal as long as I had a good time and for that the staff was there to see to it. So for my part, itβs a great place, alone or with others.
Very haughty staff, don't hesitate to make comments to you (several times, by different people on different days) if you have the misfortune of not drinking your entire coffee ONCE. I would be surprised to see you make the same thoughts to someone your age.Contemptuous and icy atmosphere. We received less respect for being polite and returning our drinks to the bar than those who shouted "AND, A COFFEE HERE" and left their trash in their place when they left. DamageTo play money there, you might as well put it directly in your toilet and flush it.Well, no hard feelings, because never againππ»
Very unpleasant staff and constantly ripping off the machines. not to mention the roulette that when you win on a full machine the machine blocks and you don't even pay your bet. The worst games room I have experienced in the 35 years I have been playing in rooms and casinos. never go there I strongly advise against hoping that it disappears because too much scam and disgusting staff and really really very unpleasant
Just for information to people who are angry about the bar service, your drinks are free for some and barely a few cents for others, it is not a bar or a cafΓ© but a games room. You're confusing everything, it's a bonus for the players so I can understand the staff who are obliged to serve a whole troop of young people who are clearly having an evening meal and who end up at the Family to drink and eat for free by putting barely β¬5 in a machine, just to say... "and but we played, we have the right to annoy the staff at 3 a.m. and ask for lots of coffee and soups too, and not finish our drinks and ask for more, after all we pay not!Β Β»Then, it remains a business! If you put a ticket in a machine, it is very likely that you will not get your bet back! It's quite logical, if everyone won all the time, business would go out of business!Otherwise, pleasant staff, nice room, friendly atmosphere
New games room, they were at bld tirou Charleroi moving near town 2 to Grand Rue 106, large non-paying and guarded parking lot I find it great for Charleroi, the staff REALLY very pleasant I would like to point this out because this is not always the case in other games rooms... Several games, 1 roulette... Very good free coffee as well as the sofas! Friday and Saturday EXCELLENT pizza!! A MUST SEE! 10/10 for the staff....
