Have been many times, this time was a fundraiser/farewell show for an incredible Canadian comedian that passed. Had to get food outside the showroom, had 2 hotdogs, you can call me a vet tech the way I put down those 2 dogs (they had banana peppers as a condiment). Had 2 cans of Guinness, no glass available and it was cash only, staff was friendly. Great room with good acoustics. ATM charged $5 :(

My first time at Yuk Yuk’s and my first ever comedy show, was looking for something to do with a group of friends for my 21rst birthday weekend. Went to see Darren Frost’s x-rated comedy on Saturday, November 9th at 9:30pm. My experience could’ve been significantly better and I am extremely disappointed with the service I received, especially after spending so much on tickets for our large group. I also work as both a server & security guard and found the service from both to be quite unprofessional. However, the comedy show itself was great in my opinion, though some of the humour was repetitive and some of my friends found it offensive, but to each their own. The comedians I briefly spoke with after the show were very kind and personable.To explain, I paid $243.63 for 9 tickets to the show, it was understood that the tickets were non refundable, but nowhere online or at the Yuk Yuk entrance did it state that groups of 6 or more were only billed to one person and that an auto gratuity of 16% would be added (I think auto-gratuity is fine but should be made known upon service). Upon being seated, we were sat behind another large group, though a big table available for nine people in the very front and middle was available the whole show.. we would’ve much preferred to sit there. (I’m only 5’1 and even my tall friends were struggling to watch the show, we all had to sit at an awkward angle the whole time, and the seats were very uncomfortable!) Our server immediately arrived, and we didn’t even have a chance to look at any of the menus, she then told us that it would only be one bill and ‘asked’ if it was fine with us, told her no, we were wanting to do separate bills as we all came there with the intention to pay separately, but she said it wasn’t doable, even to split it 2 ways. No one was in a position to pay all, would we have been refused if we didn’t? I know for a fact that servers can split the bill, it was just not done for her convenience and quicker transactions. She then rushed us to take our order, and the drinks took over 10 minutes to arrive. Not everybody ordered due to the burden of 1 bill only. Throughout the whole service (the show was 2 hours), I think she checked on us once or twice, but favoured other tables. I also asked for a triple margarita pony in a pitcher and got a single in a regular glass, but I didn’t complain about it. The whole time I was stressing about having to pay for everyone at my birthday gathering, I did not have enough for everybody. Thankfully my boyfriend paid the bill on his credit card but he was confused about the auto gratuity, so our server got nearly 30% for very poor service. I am a server myself, and I have also been in the hospitality industry for over 5 years, so I was not impressed.Another thing that I wanted to add, is that upon bag and ID checks at the casino, my one friend was singled out and her entire bag was searched and told to be brought to coat check, but none of our other bags were checked or asked to be brought there. I have also worked in Security services as a security guard, so I found this quite unprofessional. Then when we went to go take a photo after the show, the security guard yelled at my friend’s mom who was taking the picture and said we couldn’t take a photo anywhere in the building, and then when I asked to clarify what he said, as I didn’t hear him, he gave me so much attitude. It’s not what you say, but how you say it.There’s potential here but service needs to be majorly improved. Not going to bother wasting our time coming again- even with the 2 free complimentary tickets that we got for buying merch from Darren Frost after the show.Major points of feedback:1) State online and again in person upon entry that groups of six or more must be on one bill (if so necessary) & 16% gratuity2) Have proper signage to Yuk Yuk’s theatre3) Provide better seating for bigger groups/those that pay more to be there4) Improve service for guests: pacing of service, person-ability of servers, etc5) Improve interactions with security for guests
Omg !!! The stage is up hair, they have giant pitchers of Diet Coke, the food is amazing, the drinks are strong, the sound is perfect and the manager is a mini Cameron Diaz!!!!
The headliner, sober hippie guy, was awesome quite funny very enjoyable. Everyone else including the host and other acts came across quite racist, and acted like it was expected for an Albertan crowd. One comic, who worked there, wore an American flag t shirt and really threw off the vibe, traitor.
