Cabaret Billard Le Patriote Guide and Review

Cabaret Billard Le Patriote, located in Montreal, Canada, presents itself as a venue offering a blend of entertainment, from live music to pool tables and VLTs (Video Lottery Terminals), leaning towards a casino-like experience in parts. However, recent customer feedback paints a picture of highly inconsistent service and varied patron experiences.
What to Expect: The Good & The Activities đą
For those looking for specific forms of entertainment, Le Patriote does offer some appealing features:
- Live Music Potential: The venue is noted as a "good venue to go see a band!" This suggests that live performances are a significant draw, offering a vibrant atmosphere when music is playing.
- Pool Tables: Patrons highlight the presence of "nice pool tables," making it a suitable spot for a casual game with friends. It's often frequented by "young adults."
- Gaming Options: If you're "in the area and want to hit some VLTs," this place has them, fulfilling a mini-casino role for some visitors.
Areas for Improvement: The Cons & Customer Concerns â ī¸
While entertainment options exist, several recurring issues significantly impact the overall customer experience:
- High Drink Prices: A common complaint is the cost of beverages. For example, a Bloody Caesar was priced at $12 and a soda at $5, which many consider to be on the higher side.
- Inconsistent Service Quality: This is arguably the most critical area of concern. While some mention waitresses being "quick on picking up drinks," other experiences describe "very bad service."
A Severe Incident: Lost ID & Intoxicated Staff đĄ
One particularly alarming review details a harrowing experience where a barmaid, described as "so intoxicated," mistakenly gave a customer's driver's permit to another client. When confronted, she denied it, then presented a glass containing "over an hundred permits" for the customer to search through. The situation escalated to the point where police intervention was required to obtain "some sort of customer service," ultimately forcing the patron to undertake steps to get a new driver's license.
- Lack of Atmosphere: One reviewer noted the absence of a DJ, which might contribute to a less lively atmosphere during certain times. There's also a comment implying a lack of customers, which "explains a lot why they have no customer."
Overall Impression
Cabaret Billard Le Patriote seems to offer a mixed experience. If you are primarily visiting to enjoy a band, play pool on decent tables, or use the VLTs, and are prepared for potentially high drink prices, you might find it "decent." However, the significant issues reported concerning staff conduct and customer service, particularly the severe incident involving a lost ID and an allegedly intoxicated barmaid, suggest a potential risk to customer satisfaction and safety. Prospective visitors should weigh the entertainment options against the reported service inconsistencies before deciding to visit.
Nice club. Prices a bit on the high side for drinks. 12$ for bloody ceasar and 5$ for a soda. Waitresses quick on picking up drinks on table. Other than that good venue to go see a band!
