Casino at Great Canadian Toronto

The Casino at Great Canadian Toronto stands as a significant entertainment hub in Toronto, boasting the title of Canada's largest casino. This expansive venue offers a blend of gaming, live entertainment, and dining options. Based on recent visitor feedback, here's an insightful look into what you can expect.

Parking & Accessibility 🚗

Parking at Great Canadian Toronto receives mixed reviews. On the positive side, it's widely appreciated that parking is free and includes numerous EV chargers, with some areas being covered. This is a clear advantage for visitors.

However, finding a spot can be a significant challenge. Several users reported frustrating experiences, with some taking over 30 minutes to locate a space due to a lack of organization, clear signage, or attendants. The parking areas have also been noted for being dusty and unkempt, suggesting a need for better maintenance. Furthermore, be prepared for a substantial walk from your parking spot to the entrance, especially if you park further away.

Casino & Ambiance 🎰

The casino floor itself is generally well-regarded for its spacious and comfortable layout, which helps prevent it from feeling overly loud or chaotic despite its size. Many find the environment pleasant for gaming, noting it's a step above other Ontario casinos, though perhaps not as upscale as Fallsview Casino.

On the downside, one notable issue mentioned is the pervasive smell, described as "dingy with a hint of cigarettes," which can detract from the overall experience. While it's expected for casinos to be crowded, this specific olfactory issue might be a concern for some.

Food, Drink & Amenities 🍔🍹

Visitors will find a good variety of food and drink options throughout the venue. The presence of numerous self-serve drink stations is a convenient feature, allowing guests easy access to refreshments. The primary complaint in this area is the absence of a buffet restaurant, which is a common offering at many large casinos and missed by some patrons.

The Theatre & Live Shows 🎭

The venue is highly praised as a "great venue for concerts" with well-organized and quick entry for shows. The General Admission (GA) floor area, in particular, is highlighted as excellent for concert-goers. If attending a seated show in the theatre, it's strongly recommended to pick seats towards the front, as latecomers walking by can be very disruptive to the viewing experience. Be aware that drinks and snacks within the theatre are noted as very expensive.

Staff & Service Observations 🗣️

One critical area for improvement highlighted by a visitor is the staff's ability to provide directions. Some staff members reportedly struggled with English proficiency, leading to confusion when guests sought assistance with navigation.

Hotel Accommodations (as noted by a guest) 🏨

While the primary focus is the casino, one review touched on the associated hotel. The experience was largely negative, citing poor cell reception even on higher floors, a "bizarre" $15 rental fee for a microwave (not standard in rooms), and initial room issues including hair on the bed and a constant water drip in the switched room. These issues suggest a need for significant improvement in the hotel's amenities and maintenance.

Overall Impressions: Is it worth visiting? 🤔

The Casino at Great Canadian Toronto offers a vast entertainment complex with strengths in its sheer size, free parking, and diverse entertainment options including a well-regarded concert venue. The gaming floor is spacious and generally comfortable. However, persistent issues with parking navigation, the casino's lingering smell, and significant shortcomings in hotel accommodations (if staying overnight) are notable drawbacks. For a concert or a casual casino visit, it can be a "fun place to be," but be prepared for potential inconveniences, particularly regarding parking and on-site costs.

Fun place to be! It was my first time going to a show here. I saw Dirty Dancing in the theater. Great show but best to pick seats towards the front. There were so many people who came late and were walking right by us, which was very disruptive. Parking is free, but be prepared to walk. Drinks and snacks are very expensive in the theatre. Overall though, it was a good experience.

Finding a parking spot was a frustrating experience. While we appreciated that the parking was covered, navigating it was a nightmare. It took me over 30 minutes to find a spot, and I wasn’t alone many other drivers were aimlessly circling around looking for parking. Some even resorted to parking in spaces meant for safety buffers, which speaks to the lack of organization. There were no clear signs or attendants to guide drivers, making the situation even more chaotic. The parking area itself was in poor condition, covered in dust as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. It seemed like they were waiting for spring to do a proper wash.Once I finally parked, I entered through the west entrance. We spent a few hours inside, and when it was time to leave, we had trouble finding the west exit. When we asked staff members for directions, many either didn’t understand English or had very limited proficiency, which was quite surprising for a major establishment.Overall, the experience started on the wrong foot due to the parking situation and ended with confusion over basic directions. Some improvements in organization and staff training would go a long way in enhancing the guest experience.

Great venue for concerts. Haven't sat in assigned seats yet but the GA floor is excellent. Entry was well organized and quick. Casino has something for everyone, lots of food and drink options and free parking. No complaints from me

Thanks for building the largest casino in Canada. It's spacious and comfortable to be here, and it's not too loud. Although the environment is not as upscale as Fallsview, it's still very good compared to other casinos in Ontario. There are numerous self-serve drink stations and lots of food options.I'm sad there's no buffet restaurant. They have lots of EV chargers here and free parking.

I would give zero stars if I could. Staying at the hotel and there is poor cell reception and we are on the 3rd floor - only 2 bars. The room we're staying doesn't come with a microwave and there's a $15 rental fee to get one. That's a bit bizarre that all rooms don't come with a microwave. Even the cheapest of motels come with a microwave. On top of that our original room had hair all over the bed and we had switch rooms. The room we switched to had a constant dripping of water. This is what we experienced less than 24 hours of our stay.Updaye: visited the casino, smells dingy with a hint of cigarettes. Place was crowded (but I guess that's to be expected at a casino). Overall 2/10.
