Cascades Casino Guide and Review

Cascades Casino, located in Vancouver, Canada, offers a dynamic and engaging experience for its patrons, boasting a wide array of games and a lively atmosphere. While generally well-regarded for its entertainment options and culinary offerings, some areas for improvement have been noted by visitors.
Atmosphere & Gaming Options đ˛
The casino is described as a busy place with a fun atmosphere, offering lots of different games to keep visitors entertained. Guests appreciate the variety, although one review highlighted that the sheer number of games packed into the space can make walking around feel a bit tight or claustrophobic. A recurring desire is for more electronic table games, as seats for these popular options can be hard to come by, often being fully occupied throughout the night.
Dining & Refreshments đđģ
Cascades Casino receives high marks for its food and beverage options. Visitors have particularly praised the food quality, with specific mentions of "very good food" and "love the food!"
Food Highlights:
- Souvlaki Dinner: Described as "very good" with "fair portions" including both chicken and beef skewers, generous amounts of rice and potatoes, and a "tasty Greek salad."
- General appreciation for the cleanliness and maintenance of the dining areas.
Bar Service:
- The bar in the middle of the casino is a popular spot, where bartenders are lauded as "fantastic."
- Service at the bar is noted for being attentive ("beer was always filled"), providing "good conversation," and making guests "genuinely feel welcome."
- The presence of "multiple TVs to watch the game on" adds to the appeal for sports enthusiasts.
Staff & Service đ
Overall, staff receive positive comments, particularly the bartenders who contribute to a welcoming environment. However, one specific area identified for improvement relates to staff availability for winners.
- Positive Staff Interactions: Bartenders are highlighted for their fantastic service, attentiveness, good conversation, and welcoming demeanor.
- Area for Improvement: A reviewer noted that the casino could benefit from "more staff stand by for anyone winning," as it took a "long time to get to someone" for assistance or payouts. This suggests a need for increased efficiency in certain service areas.
Important Note on Adjoining Hotel đ¨
It's crucial to distinguish between the casino experience and the experience at the adjoining Coast City Hotel. One review explicitly states that its low rating "is not for the casino. It is for the adjoining Coast City Hotel." This guest reported a highly negative stay at the hotel, citing "horrendous, impolite and unprofessional" staff, particularly within the housekeeping team. Issues included insufficient supplies (half a toilet paper roll daily), confrontation with staff when requesting more, and indifference from the front desk.
The hotel's breakfast policy (only a 10% discount voucher, not included) and a negative dining experience at the Atlus Steak House located within the hotel (burnt steak, charcoal chicken) were also highlighted. While the drinks at Atlus were a minor positive, the overall hotel experience led the reviewer to leave early and state, "Never going back!" This review specifically targets the hotel's management and customer service, rather than the casino operations or facilities.
Overall Recommendation
Cascades Casino in Vancouver appears to be a strong contender for a fun night out, offering diverse gaming options and commendable food and beverage service. While the layout might feel a bit crowded at times and assistance for winnings could be more prompt, the positive atmosphere and attentive bar staff contribute to an enjoyable visit. Prospective visitors should note that feedback regarding the adjoining Coast City Hotel does not reflect on the casino itself.
played bingo for new years eve here and love the food! Everything's clean and well maintained, but I think they need more staff stand by for anyone winning, bcs it took the staff a long time to get to someone. highly recommend.
Sat at the bar in the middle of the casino. Had the pleasure of two different bar tenders serving us. They were both fantastic. Beer was always filled. Good conversation and genuinely made us feel welcome. Plus multiple TVs to watch the game on.
Very good food. Had the souvlaki dinner, I skewer each of chicken & beef. Very fair portion with loads of rice, potatoes and tasty Greek salad
A busy place with lots of different games offered. My only criticism would be that it is very tight with the amount of games packed in there so walking around can sometimes feel a bit claustrophobic, and I would love to see more electronic table games added as there was not a single seat open all night! Other than that it was enjoyable with a fun atmosphere.
This rating is not for the casino. It is for the adjoining Coast City Hotel. Staff is horrendous. Impolite and unprofessional, including the housekeeping team. Attached are the pictures of how our room was left after housekeeping services were done. They insisted on leaving only half a toilet paper roll each day and got upset if you requested more. When shown pictures , I was confronted by the housekeeping person and told that I was lying! Front desk lady just looked on like it's an everyday affair!Rooms do not include breakfast - only a 10% discount voucher for breakfast.Atlus stake house at this location is far inferior than the Delta/Burnaby location. Received burnt stake when asked for med and charcoal chicken. Drinks were their good point , however.Overall, it was a nasty experience, and we left 2 days early. Never going back! This hotel should get a totally new management and crew who understand customer service.
