Located in Alajuela city, Costa Rica, Casino Fiesta presents a rather mixed experience according to recent visitor feedback. While some aspects shine, others leave much to be desired, particularly concerning atmosphere and culinary offerings, making it a place with varied opinions among patrons.
The overall ambiance at Casino Fiesta appears to be a point of contention. One recent visitor described the casino interior as "dark inside" and found the general atmosphere to be "nonexistent," also noting a seemingly limited number of slot machines. This suggests that those looking for a brightly lit, high-energy casino floor with a vast selection of modern slots might be left underwhelmed. However, a different review highlighted a more positive social atmosphere, praising an "entertaining band" that typically starts playing at 10 PM. This live music presence could significantly enhance the experience, creating a more lively and enjoyable environment, particularly for those visiting later in the evening.
The culinary experience at Casino Fiesta also receives conflicting reports. One very negative review specifically targeted the "Pirates bar/restaurant" located within the establishment. This patron reported "bad food" and even claimed to have suffered from food poisoning, suspecting the salad. Other complaints included poorly prepared items like mozzarella sticks (described as having no trace of cheese), a dry burger bun, and soggy pizza. This reviewer strongly advised opting for alternatives like Denny's or Rosti if using airport vouchers. In contrast, another patron previously stated that the food was "always awesome," while also commending the staff. Regarding beverages, one positive note was made about the bartender making "strong drinks," which was appreciated by a guest.
While some reviews consistently praise the staff as "always great," a significant point of dissatisfaction has arisen concerning the casino's loyalty program. One regular patron expressed extreme disappointment after discovering that all accrued points from six months prior had been lost. This issue led to their decision not to return, despite otherwise positive past experiences with both staff and food quality. This indicates a potential flaw in their rewards system that future visitors reliant on such benefits should be aware of and perhaps clarify upon arrival.
Casino Fiesta in Alajuela seems to offer a dichotomous experience. For those seeking a lively late-night spot with live music and strong drinks, especially if visiting after 10 PM, it might hold some appeal. However, potential visitors should be prepared for a potentially dim gaming floor with a seemingly fewer number of slot machine options. Furthermore, it's advisable to exercise caution regarding the food, particularly at the "Pirates bar/restaurant," given the severe negative feedback from at least one recent diner. It's also recommended to inquire about the status and reliability of any loyalty points or programs upon arrival to avoid potential disappointment.
This casino was actually very disappointing to me. First of all the casino was dark inside second of all they only had a certain number of slot machines which was great. Don’t get me wrong, but the whole atmosphere was just nonexistent. But go and see for yourself that’s just my opinion.
Rating just for pirates bar/restaurant, food was bad and worse than that it gave food poisoning, currently coming out of both ends. I suspect the salad. Mozzarella sticks cooked so long there wasn't a trace of cheese in them, burger had dry flaky bun, soggy pizza. If you get an airport voucher chose dennys or rosti instead.
I can't believe no one is sharing about this place. I found out about if from locals. The music starts at 10PM. And the band is so entertaining! And... the bartender makes strong drinks (be careful!). I really enjoyed thos place!
Most disappointing to find out all of my points from 6 months ago have been lost. Staff was always great, food was always awesome, but won’t return.
