Located in the vibrant city of North Nicosia (Lefkoşa), Cyprus, the establishment known as Acapulco Casino is more extensively reviewed by visitors for its sprawling resort features rather than its casino offerings. While the "casino" name might suggest a primary focus on gaming, guest feedback predominantly highlights its extensive hotel, spa, and leisure amenities, making it a popular destination for families and those seeking a relaxing getaway.
Overall Experience & Resort Highlights ✨
Many visitors praise Acapulco for its beautiful setting and comprehensive facilities. Guests have described it as a "very nice hotel and spa" with excellent service, prompting many to express a desire to return. The resort boasts a prime location on "one of the most beautiful beaches in North Cyprus," providing a tranquil and relaxing environment.
For those who prefer pools over the sea, Acapulco offers multiple options, including an impressive aquapark. Families particularly enjoy the "great day at the pool and water park," noting the abundance of sunbeds and short queues for rides. The pools, grounds, and facilities are generally well-maintained by a hardworking staff. The presence of an adult-only infinity pool and a private beach also caters to couples looking for a more serene experience.
Customer relations receive high marks, with staff making guests feel "truly taken care of." One reviewer specifically thanked a staff member, Esra Hanım, for being "exceptionally solution-oriented and professional." The variety and quality of food at the buffet are also frequently enjoyed by guests.
Areas for Improvement & Mixed Feedback 🚧
While many aspects are lauded, some reviews point to areas where management could enhance the guest experience:
- Staff Training: Issues were noted with bar staff appearing "mostly confused about how to fulfil orders," indicating a need for better training in this area.
- Lifeguard Vigilance: A significant concern raised by a family was the apparent lack of focus from lifeguards, who seemed more engaged in socializing or on their phones rather than actively watching the pools. This review suggested an urgent need for more lifeguards, better training, and shorter shifts to ensure guest safety.
- Room Quality: While some rooms, like those in Pine Court II, are described as large with wonderful sea views and quieter than the main building, a reviewer staying in a bungalow mentioned the room "is not spectacular, and smelled of old furniture."
- Guest Service Discrepancies: One negative review described a "totally disaster" experience where "employees are like a king at the hotel their nephews can do anything, but your child has to wait for the rules like a soldier." This highlights an inconsistency in rule application and customer service.
Unique Features 🐾
Beyond the standard resort amenities, one heartwarming detail mentioned is the "cat feeding area," which many visitors, especially animal lovers, appreciated for the opportunity to see "so many cute kittens!"
Conclusion
Acapulco Casino, more accurately described as the Acapulco Resort & Convention Centre, offers a vast array of facilities primarily focused on leisure and family entertainment in North Nicosia. It provides a beautiful beach, diverse pool options, and a well-regarded aquapark. While many guests enjoy excellent service and the overall resort experience, there are notable areas for management to address, particularly regarding staff training and lifeguard attentiveness, to ensure a consistently high standard for all visitors.
Very nice hotel and spa. Excellent service from all the stuffs. I will go again. Very good 👌
My family and I had a great day at the pool and water park, and you can’t beat the price of entry! Plenty of sunbeds, no long queues for the rides, and the pools, grounds, and facilities were very nice and kept nice by the hardworking maintenance staff. That said, management needs to up their game in training their bar staff and the lifeguards on duty. What I write next is not indicative of a purported 5-star resort. The staff at the bar seemed mostly confused about how to fulfil orders from customers - at one point not even knowing where the rum was kept behind the bar. I don’t blame the staff; it’s bar management that needs to train the young staff better. Waitstaff at the poolside restaurant were better, but it’s a low bar to clear. Now the part that upset me: the lifeguards on duty are clearly for show only. It seemed to me that their job was to flirt or talk with one another, or to be on their phones doom-scrolling - they certainly were not watching the main pools. The only time I saw them blow their whistle was when someone was hanging from one of the bridges over a pool. They must have instructions to guard the facility, because they certainly were not guarding guests in the pool. Again, I do not blame the staff, I blame management. First, they have not hired enough people to do the job, and those they have hired have not been properly trained. It is an intensive job requiring unwavering focus and full attention on the people in the water. So, they should have many more lifeguards, and lifeguards should only be on duty for 20-30 minutes at a time, being given frequent breaks to recover for their next shift. If they continue to rely on guests drawing a lifeguard’s attention when something goes wrong, I predict tragedy. This can be avoided provided management ups their game. They have massively increased the price of entry since last year - they can afford to hire more lifeguards and train them better.
This is our second time in Acapulco, and I believe it will not be the last. The hotel is situated on one of the most beautiful beaches in North Cyprus, providing a tranquil and relaxing experience. If you prefer the pool, you have two options and an aquapark where you can enjoy the day.Last year, I mentioned it would be nice to have a kettle in the room, and this year, we had one. We stayed in the same room as last year. Therefore, my experience with the rooms is limited, but the one we stayed in, located in Pine Court II, is quite large with a wonderful sea view. The building is also much quieter than the main building. The customer relations are excellent; they make you feel truly taken care of. I'd especially like to thank Esra Hanım, who is exceptionally solution-oriented and professional.I can say that Acapulco meets my expectations for both a hotel and a holiday, making me feel comfortable. I also enjoy the variety of food. The construction, which has been ongoing since last year, is finally in its last stages. It seems that the quality of the additional rooms will elevate Acapulco to another level.
Totally disaster... employees are like a king at the hotel their nephews can do anything, but your child has to wait for the rules like a soldier, even if the weather becomes 40° Celsius. There are more than 200 countries around the world choose another one or if you like to come here, choose another hotel...
We stayed in the bungalow for 2 nights. The room itself is not spectacular, and smelled of old furniture. The hotel amenities are endless. For families and children, there's the water park, theme parks, pool with animation, and more. For couples looking to relax, there's the infinity pool (adults only) and the private beach.Great food and variety at the buffet. We loved the cat feeding area. So many cute kittens!
