Located in the vibrant city of Girne (Kyrenia) on the North Coast of Cyprus, PiaBella Exclusive Otel & Casino presents itself as a multifaceted destination primarily known for its casino, but also offering hotel accommodation and dining. Based on recent guest experiences, the venue offers a mixed bag of charm and challenges.
While the prompt mentions North Nicosia, reviews consistently place PiaBella in Girne (Kyrenia). Its location is a significant plus, described as being close to the new port and just a short walk from the "city centre," the old port, and the historic castle. Guests have highlighted the convenience of finding excellent local restaurants within seconds of the hotel, including "Afitap" for its delectable Lah Macun and Pide breads, and a nearby café known for its cakes and English breakfast.
The hotel offers a varied accommodation experience, with guests noting the presence of three, soon to be four, distinct accommodation blocks. This variety, however, contributes to inconsistent guest experiences:
Common issues reported in some rooms include a lack of working WiFi (or only in specific areas like the toilet), broken light switches, and non-functional mini-fridges. Despite these potential drawbacks, rooms are generally reported as clean.
As a primary casino destination, guests frequently mention their experiences within the gaming area. While the casino does offer food and drink, it's important to note that access to the buffet may require a significant amount of betting. Service in the casino has been a point of contention for some, with one guest reporting "terrible service" where orders could take at least 15 minutes to arrive.
The hotel's culinary offerings receive varied feedback:
A consistent highlight for many guests is the hotel staff. They are widely described as "excellent,""friendly," and providing "service second to none." One review even stated that the staff's amazing service helped to "make up for all the bad things about the hotel," indicating their dedication and positive impact on guest satisfaction.
PiaBella Exclusive Otel & Casino appears to be a property with significant potential, particularly with its ongoing refurbishments and the quality of its newer accommodation blocks. It offers a non-pretentious, "family-run feeling." However, the older sections of the hotel and certain aspects of the casino service present challenges for guests. For travelers prioritizing excellent staff and a convenient location, especially if allocated a room in one of the newer blocks, PiaBella could be a pleasant stay. Those expecting consistent modern amenities across all rooms or prompt casino service might find aspects less appealing. Many guests, however, found the experience positive enough to consider returning.
Comfortable room friendly staff food could be better a bit samey and sometimes cold
My partner and I chose a 2 week (working from home) break here at the Pia Bella, in Girne/Kirenia, on the North Coast of Cyprus. We desired some winter sun in January and were lucky enough to miss the subzero temperatures of London. The hotel is located close to the new port, but only a short walk from the "city centre" and the old port and castle; Girne is not a huge place. Locally, we found some great restaurants for evening meals, just seconds away from the hotel. Our pick was a place called Afitap. They make their own bread products so their Lah Macun and Pide breads are to die for.Next door, a Café that makes their own cakes and does a very good English breakfast is superb, too.The hotel has 3 and soon to be 4 types of accommodation block. The first could be considered rustic, the oldest building, under refurbishment. The second building is presently closed until the summer, which is being refurbished. The third block is very nice. All rooms with balconies. This block is linked to the casino. The 4th, where we were lucky enough to stay, was their newest, and in the same block as their new restaurant, where breakfast is served. The images in my post are the suite we managed to book for a couple of nights at the end of our stay. Each morning, we enjoyed a beautiful continental breakfast, then found a quiet area to work from. The staff were excellent and service second to none. This place is not pretentious at all. It has a family run feeling to it.Loads more I could say about this place, but you gotta be bored reading about my two weeks working from home (holiday). We will be back here soon, hence, very very good.
Hotel: Romms are very old like from middle ages. Internet reception is very poor in certain areas. Better to use your own roaming. The staff is really amazing, They make up for all the bad things about the hotel. Food is great by the wayCasino: terrible service. Takes at least 15 mins for your order to arrive
The casino has food and drink but you have to bet a lot of money to eat bufe at the casino
Run down, based on my time here, limited choice on breakfast, room clean, WiFi didn't work in the room only in the toilet! Light switch broken, mini fridge didn't work either. Definitely wrong choice, won't be coming here again.
