Overall Assessment 🌟
Grandhotel Pupp undoubtedly stands as a monument of historical elegance and luxury in Karlovy Vary. Its stunning architecture, opulent rooms, and excellent spa facilities promise a truly grand experience. However, potential visitors should be aware that while many praise the professional service, some guests have experienced significant shortcomings in staff warmth, efficiency, and guest support, particularly during check-in and with post-stay issues. The hotel excels in its physical grandeur and wellness offerings, but there appears to be room for improvement in consistently delivering a flawless, five-star service experience across all touchpoints.

There is nothing to add into this 5 star review. Fantastic hotel showing the legacy and keeping top level standard. Very professional services in every corner. Modern wellness with all needed features. And the location speak for itself. Had a pleasure to spend some time in the facilty and also in the event areas or at the bar. All is just great! Congratulations to the hotel staff and management.
This hotel is exceptionally beautiful and luxurious; I believe any other hotel would seem ordinary in comparison. The architectural details are exquisite and create a fairytale-like atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing and luxurious getaway. The spa is highly recommended, and the food and service are amazing. While the room temperature could be slightly warmer, it is otherwise perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily return.
If you’re looking to be transported back in time - not to an era of elegance and grandeur, but to the golden age of Soviet-style customer service - Grandhotel Pupp is your destination.Let’s start with the one undeniable highlight: the architecture. Yes, it’s a stunning building. Truly beautiful. Unfortunately, that’s where the magic ends and the mess begins.Highlights and what you can expect;-Check-In Olympics: A nearly 45-minute ordeal with no seating in sight. You’d think a “five-star” establishment could manage a bench or two, but alas, we were left to shift awkwardly with our suitcases, waiting for someone. To make things even more baffling, only one poor soul was manning the front desk during peak hours - a hotel this size desperately needs more staff-Staff are unfriendly and cold: For their sake, I hope they had something against us because if they treat every guest like this, it’s honestly embarrassing-Concierge: When I asked for help booking a restaurant, I was asked why I didn’t do it myself. Yes, I should have pre-booked a table using my non-existent Czech and international sim card, obviously. Silly me for assuming the concierge was, I don’t know, there to help?-Valet? Bellboy? No one met us out front. We lugged our suitcases up ourselves while an employee casually stood there and watched us struggle. Not a finger lifted. No offer of help. Just vibes.-Breakfast and Rooms: I’ll admit - the breakfast was decent, and the rooms were comfortable and well-kept. But even a good mattress can’t make up for the sour taste of poor service. In summary, this was not the luxury experience I expected. The only consistent service here is the copy-pasted response I’m sure I’ll get from management: something about being sorry for not meeting expectations and promising to “do better” next time. Honestly? I won’t be around for it - you’d probably have a much better experience at an airport hotel or budget hostel.
Never give your credit card to a hotel as a guarantee. When I checked out in the morning , I was charged in the afternoon the same day . I called the hotel to check what happened? They said a hanger was taken from the room. I didn’t take anything from the room. The front desk asked me to call again and talked to the day-shift staff. Butwhen I really tried to call them, they just put me waiting for transfer, and will hang up at the end. Don’t trust them.
