Casino Hispaniola, located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, primarily functions as a casino. Based on recent patron experiences, it presents a very mixed picture, leaning towards a less-than-ideal destination for many, especially international tourists. While it offers a variety of gaming options, several significant concerns have been raised by visitors.
On the positive side, some visitors have noted that the casino features "plenty of slots machines" and gaming tables, suggesting a decent selection for those looking to try their luck. However, this is where the clear positives often end.
A recurring complaint among patrons is the slow and often absent service, particularly concerning drinks and food. Reviews mention, "the service and drinks are too slow," and that staff "don't like to give you drinks or food" even while guests are actively gambling. This can significantly detract from the overall casino experience, where prompt service is often expected.
For international visitors, a significant hurdle appears to be a language barrier. One recent review explicitly states, "no speaking English or interested in helping tourist clientele." This suggests that the casino may not be well-equipped to cater to a diverse tourist base, leading to an unwelcoming atmosphere for non-Spanish speakers. It has been described as a "locals only spot."
Perhaps the most severe concerns revolve around allegations of cheating. One highly negative review strongly advises to "Steer clear", citing instances where the reviewer and others at the table felt "cheated." This led to an "uproar" and a generally chaotic and unpleasant environment, described as the "Worst 30 mins of any vacation." Such accusations are deeply concerning and should be a major consideration for potential visitors.
One review raised a question about the availability of free Wi-Fi in the casino area, which is a common amenity expected in modern establishments. While the review itself didn't confirm its presence, it highlights a desired feature for many visitors.
Given the feedback, Casino Hispaniola seems to cater more towards a local clientele, potentially comfortable with the service pace and language environment. For tourists, especially those expecting high standards of customer service, clear communication, and a transparent gaming experience, there appear to be "much nicer options available" in Santo Domingo.
While the casino offers a range of gaming machines and tables, the consistent feedback regarding poor service, language barriers, and serious allegations of unfair play paint a concerning picture. Visitors are advised to proceed with extreme caution and consider their expectations carefully before choosing Casino Hispaniola for their gambling entertainment in Santo Domingo.

Steer clear. Cheated two other people in front of me. I should have left. Then cheated me. The table was in uproar. I was up but it was too much. They cheated us... but wasn't worth the craziness. Not the fun I was looking for at all. Worst 30 mins of any vacation. This place should be investigated and closed. Unacceptable.
Good place to bet,Have plenty of slots machines, tables, but the service and drinks are too slow, it would be much better with a better service
