I just stayed here and I have to say it was pretty nice I’d come again. The room I stayed in had functional amenities but needs updating. The view was decent. The neighborhood was lively. The lobby was very well polished. Looks upscale. The food was absolutely fantastic, from my experience. Some of the best beef stew I’ve ever had by a long shot. The waitstaff are very attentive. Almost a perfect visit.
The concierge person Steven and Christopher were very helpful, knowledgeable and timely. They both went out of their way to help me during my stay and checked in to make sure o was having a great time. I would 10/10 recommend especially if they are there. Great stay !
The rooms are ugly and outdated, with an unpleasant smell of cigarettes, despite being advertised as a non-smoking hotel. The bathrooms are old, and water easily leaks from the bathtubs. The doors are also worn out. The high floors have rooms that are in poor condition, and the electrical outlets are very old, lacking grounding which makes it difficult to connect laptop and phone chargers. It's challenging to find adequate electrical outlets in the rooms. Overall, the more expensive rooms are just as unattractive and carry bad odors.
This was first time visiting the Dominican Republic. My experience was excellent and the service was great. The Mercado restaurant provided awesome meals and the buffet was delicious. Henry was outstanding in terms of service and making me feel welcomed to the country and hotel.
Henry is the most special and wonderful server at breakfast! He manifested for me a most enjoyable mocha when they don't even serve them here! He remembered me daily and really added something special to my stay!
