Casino Barrière Ouistreham, correctly located in the charming coastal town of Ouistreham, France, offers a dynamic gaming experience right next to the beach. While some visitors have thoroughly enjoyed their time, including successful wins at the roulette table, others have encountered significant hurdles upon entry. This review synthesizes various guest experiences to provide a comprehensive outlook.
The casino is often described as having a lively and vibrant atmosphere, characterized by "bright lights & atmosphere late into the night." While not exceptionally large, it tends to be "fairly busy," even during later hours, suggesting its popularity. Many visitors find the gaming experience "good fun," especially when luck is on their side, with specific mentions of enjoyable times at the roulette wheel, where some successfully doubled or even trebled their money. The general consensus for those who make it inside is a positive and engaging environment.
One of the casino's standout features is its "great location" immediately adjacent to the beach. This makes it "really easy to find" for both locals and tourists. The "nice surrounds" further enhance the appeal, providing a picturesque backdrop for an evening of entertainment.
Potential visitors should be aware of several critical aspects that have led to negative experiences for some:
While the thrill of gambling can lead to wins, be prepared for potentially high prices for amenities once inside. Beverages, in particular, have been noted as expensive; one reviewer highlighted a bottle of the cheapest red wine costing €38, with white wine also being "not cheap."
On a more positive note regarding accessibility, the casino is known for its extended operating hours. It is "open later," specifically till 3 AM on Saturdays and Sundays, making it a viable option for late-night entertainment.
Casino Barrière Ouistreham offers a vibrant and enjoyable casino experience with a fantastic beachfront location. It can be a great place for fun and a chance to win, especially with its late opening hours. However, prospective visitors must be meticulously prepared for its uncompromising entry policies regarding identification (bring your passport!) and personal bags (leave them behind!). Be mindful of the cost of drinks. If you successfully navigate these entry requirements, Casino Barrière Ouistreham could provide an entertaining and memorable evening out in Ouistreham.
I really enjoyed our short visit to Casino Barriere, Ouistreham. Doubled my money on the roulette wheel whilst my wife trebled hers. Mind you with a bottle of red wine (the cheapest) costing €38 we certainly needed to win - that's alot of money. White was a little more reasonable but still not cheap, not even really that reasonable.Turning €20 into €44 & €20 into €60 was rather enjoyable. Nice surrounds and a great location, really easy to find, and right next to the beach. Bright lights & atmosphere late into the night🌙. It's not big & is fairly busy, even quite late into the night. Good fun though as long as you don't lose your shirt 😉.
the worst casino I’ve ever been! They are not respect people, and they refuse us to enter the casino because of a small back bag, they have no solution for that, and without any lockers….The receptionist is a little bit aggressive. Never go there!
Didn’t recognise a UK driving license as ID as of Brixit. Wouldn’t let me in unless show my passport which was back at the hotel.
