Club Pierre Charron

Located in the charming city of Enghien-les-Bains, Club Pierre Charron positions itself as a significant destination for casino enthusiasts, particularly those interested in card games. This establishment offers a large and often crowded environment, indicative of its popularity among local patrons.

Gaming Experience πŸƒ

For poker aficionados, Club Pierre Charron stands out. Reviewers describe the poker system for games like Omaha and Texas Hold'em as "perfect", with one even calling it potentially "the best place to play poker in Europe." A notable feature is the ability to check the real-time flow of people on the site, which is highly appreciated by players for planning their visits.

Blackjack enthusiasts will find the game rules particularly interesting and potentially advantageous. The dealer does not hit a soft 17, and crucially, the dealer's second card is revealed only after all players have completed their hands. These rules can offer a slight edge to the player, making the game more appealing for those who understand the strategy. However, be prepared for some local players who might react strongly to gameplay decisions they disagree with, such as hitting on 16s.

While the games themselves are generally well-regarded, poker tables can sometimes be limited (around 1-2 tables at a time), leading to wait times of up to two hours. The club's policy on tipping is also quite strict, with public tipping reportedly not allowed.

Service and Atmosphere πŸ½οΈπŸ—£οΈ

Opinions on staff and the overall atmosphere are significantly mixed. While one reviewer found the staff to be "very efficient and helpful in English," other experiences strongly contradict this. Several visitors reported significant difficulties, particularly for non-French speakers. Issues ranged from challenges at the entrance to a general unhelpfulness from staff and even rudeness from some local patrons.

A recurring complaint highlights a prevalent language barrier and an unwelcoming attitude towards those who don't speak French. Non-French speaking tourists reported being told to "speak French" and found that poker table conversations or explanations were rarely translated, creating a less than ideal experience for international visitors. This aspect is a major point of consideration for anyone visiting from outside France.

On a very positive note, the casino's food receives high praise. It's described as "incredible" and "the best casino food" one reviewer had ever experienced, highlighting its freshness and healthiness. This makes the dining aspect a definite highlight of the Club Pierre Charron experience.

Visitor Recommendations πŸ€”

  1. Language Preparedness: If you do not speak French, be aware that you might face significant communication challenges with both some staff members and especially local customers. This could impact your enjoyment, particularly at game tables.
  2. Poker Enthusiasts: This club seems to be a strong draw for dedicated poker players who appreciate efficient systems and specific game formats.
  3. Food Lovers: Plan to enjoy a meal here, as the food quality is consistently lauded.
  4. Blackjack Strategy: Take advantage of the favorable blackjack rules, but be prepared for strong reactions from some local players.
  5. Tourist Consideration: While the venue is large and offers good gaming, non-French speaking tourists should manage their expectations regarding hospitality and ease of communication, as the club appears to cater primarily to its local French-speaking clientele.

NOT FOR TOURIST.Place is big and nice and crowded. Some personnel is nice. But if you do not speak french, better do not come. Locals are mean and say to you: "in france you speak frech" when you ask something in english. At poker table 99% speak only french and do not translate anything to you when asked.Very sad, locals shoud study some manners

Despite the other reviews I found all the staff very efficient and helpful in English. The food here is incredible... best casino food I've ever had, healthy and fresh.Played poker for a while. Blackjack table had an angry local, shouting when I hit a card.... not ideal playing with the local customers but can't fault the casino

If you don’t speak French don’t visit. We’ve had about the worst experience even getting in the damn place. That a casino has its process fine. If you don’t like tourists fine.but getting mad and excessively rude that we don’t understand what you are trying to tell us in 3 seconds? Or what you want us to do without bothering to explain to us what you want in the first place is just strange. If you are or if you speak French you might have a great experience. If not don’t bother coming if you want a fun night of gambling.

Decent club with good games. Poker was only 1-2 tables at a time and there usually was a 2-hour wait. I don't know if someone could tip them under the table to get a seat sooner, they didn't allow me to tip them publicly when we wanted to leave after playing a bit of Blackjack.Blackjack game was interesting, the dealer doesn't hit the soft 17 and dealer's second card comes after everyone plays their hand (gives an edge to the player). A lot of players surrendered their 16s or simply didn't hit it and looked at me strangely when I consistently did.We stopped by a few times and could sense some people were problematic players (empty their accounts and cards kinda of players), but games were good and service was decent.
