Spielbank Berlin Guide and Review

Located in the beautiful city of Potsdam, Germany, Spielbank Berlin functions as a casino, aiming to provide entertainment for those seeking a gamble. User experiences for this establishment appear to be quite varied, ranging from highly positive to deeply disappointing.
The Upsides of Spielbank Berlin ✨
- Atmosphere & Ambiance: Many visitors describe the casino as a "clean and fancy place", situated in a "really nice luxury area". It's also been noted as a "pretty cosy casino" and, for some, the "most impressive" of its brand.
- Gaming Options: The casino offers a variety of gambling options including "lots of different electrical jackpots", along with tables for Blackjack and Roulette (both live and digital versions available for roulette). However, it's worth noting that "no digital blackjack" is available.
- Drink Policy (Historically): Several older reviews highlight a policy where an entrance fee (variously mentioned as €2 or €4) granted visitors cards for "free drinks including soft and beer". This was a significant plus for many who had a good time.
Points of Contention & Disappointment ⚠️
- Staff & Hospitality: This is arguably the most critical and frequently cited negative aspect. Multiple reviews mention "unwelcome staff at the entrance" who were described as "rude and dismissive". Some visitors, particularly foreigners, felt "extremely unwelcome" and that their presence was not appreciated. One severe complaint even suggests potential "racist behavior" from a staff member at the entrance.
- Gaming Experience & Facilities: While some enjoyed the games, others found the casino "underwhelming" with "outdated machines" and "limited game options". The overall atmosphere was described as "lackluster" by one disappointed visitor.
- Conflicting Information on Drinks: Interestingly, one recent review explicitly states the casino is "alcohol free", directly contradicting several older reviews that mention free beer. This discrepancy could indicate a recent policy change or a misunderstanding, but it's a point of confusion for potential visitors.
Entry Requirements 💸
Visitors should be aware that there is an entrance fee, which has been reported as either €2 or €4. Historically, this fee sometimes included vouchers for complimentary drinks, though recent information contradicts this for alcoholic beverages.
Final Thoughts on Spielbank Berlin 🤔
Spielbank Berlin presents a dichotomy of experiences. On one hand, it's praised for its clean, fancy, and cosy environment, offering a decent range of slots and table games like Blackjack and Roulette. On the other hand, the casino faces significant criticism regarding its staff's perceived unwelcoming and rude demeanor, particularly towards foreigners, with some serious allegations of discriminatory behavior. Concerns about outdated gaming machines and a generally underwhelming atmosphere also surface.
Prospective visitors should consider these mixed reviews. While the gaming environment itself might appeal to some, the potential for a negative experience due to staff interactions seems to be a recurring theme. It's advisable to manage expectations, especially regarding hospitality and the current availability of alcoholic beverages.
Very disappointing experience. As foreigners, we felt extremely unwelcome here from the moment we walked in. The staff was rude and dismissive, making it clear they didn’t appreciate our presence. Beyond the poor treatment, the casino itself was underwhelming: outdated machines, limited game options, and a lackluster atmosphere. Not worth the visit—would not recommend to anyone, especially if you’re from out of town.
Clean and fancy place, here you can find lots of different electrical jack pots and also some tables for Blackjack and rollet. We enjoyed our time there.
Pretty cosy casino. No digital black jack though, only slots, live bj, digital and live roulette. Free drinks including soft and beer upon paying 4€ entrance fee. Staff walk around with a stone face (though are friendly) but what do you expect, this isn’t america!
We have been in several casino by this brand, this located in really nice luxury area and this casino is the most impressive. We had good time here , notice that you have to pay 2€ at the entrance and you will get two card for free drinks include beers and soft drinkIn the picture the bar at the 2th floor
Unwelcome staff at the entrance. Almost dismissive. Very rude without any reason.Came in and there’s 2 people taking IDs and cash. The “muscular” man people talk about only looked at me and very angrily said “I know what I’m doing, I will call you if I’m free” when I was standing in front of his line. 1 minute later a white guy walked in and the “muscular” guy took his money and let him in. Seems like racist behavior. Also, it’s alcohol free. You get in with 2 euro but - unlike other casinos of the brand - you cannot get beer.
