Spielbank Berlin Guide and Review

Nestled in Potsdam, Germany, Spielbank Berlin operates as a casino, presenting a varied experience for its patrons. While it shines in certain aspects, particularly for those new to casino gaming, there are also several areas identified by visitors that could benefit from enhancement.
💰 Entry, Atmosphere & Amenities
- The casino charges a €2 entrance fee, which conveniently includes two complimentary soft drinks. This policy is consistently noted by guests, although some express that this initial cost, despite the included beverages, can slightly dampen the overall excitement upon arrival.
- A significant positive frequently highlighted is the non-smoking environment, which contributes to a more pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for many visitors.
- However, there have been some criticisms regarding practical facilities:
- One report indicated that the ATM was non-functional during a visit, which can be inconvenient for cash transactions.
- Limited space at the coat check was also a point of concern for some guests.
🎲 Gaming Experience & Table Availability
- For enthusiasts of roulette, a distinct advantage is the availability of tables with a remarkably low €1 minimum bet. This makes the game highly accessible and encourages casual play.
- Despite the low minimums, comfort at the roulette tables has been a recurring complaint, with chairs described as "uncomfortable" and "very narrow," potentially leading to a feeling of instability during play.
- The overall choice of tables appears to be somewhat restricted, with observations of "too many people on the same table" at times. Specifically, one reviewer noted the presence of only one functional blackjack table, which contributed to an assessment of the casino's offerings as "very mediocre."
- Despite these limitations, the general pace of gambling is described as "fast," suggesting efficient gameplay for those who find a spot.
🤝 Staff & Service
- A standout positive aspect consistently praised is the casino's friendly and accommodating staff. Dealers are commended for their willingness to speak a bit of English and for being patient in reminding players of rules, which is particularly beneficial for first-time casino visitors. Furthermore, the staff are noted as being perfectly fine with guests placing small bets, making the environment less intimidating. This level of service makes Spielbank Berlin a highly recommended destination for beginners or those seeking a relaxed gaming atmosphere.
☕ Other Observations
- One minor, yet notable, observation was that the hot chocolate available was considered "okay."
📝 Summary and Recommendations
Spielbank Berlin in Potsdam offers a casino experience with both appealing features and areas needing attention. Its strong suits lie in its welcoming, non-smoking atmosphere, accessible low minimum bets for roulette, and exceptionally friendly, helpful staff, making it a good choice for those new to casinos. However, potential visitors should manage expectations regarding table availability, as the selection can be limited, and some seating (specifically at roulette) might not be the most comfortable. Issues with amenities like non-functional ATMs and crowded coat checks are also points to consider. While some perceive it as a "good casino by European standards," others have found the overall experience to be "very mediocre" due to these operational shortcomings. For a friendly introduction to casino gaming with low stakes, it certainly has its merits, but seasoned players might find the game selection and operational efficiency less robust.
What spoils the experience is that entry costs 2 euros for 2 soft drinks. Light weights should be free for casino visitors. Non-smoking advantage and roulette whole table for 1 euro. The chairs next to the roulette wheel are really uncomfortable, very narrow, you feel like you're falling out of the chair.

ATM doesn’t work. No space at the coat check, only one functional blackjack table. Overall very mediocre.
Very nice place, the staff is super friendly and speaks a bit of English. The dealers are fine to remind some of the rules (was my first time playing). And also they are completely fine if you play small bets. Totally recommend this place!
