Ned Kellys in Bray, primarily operating as a casino, appears to offer a range of entertainment options, with pool tables being a prominent feature. However, user reviews present a stark contrast of experiences, from commendable staff interactions to significant concerns regarding billing practices and the venue's overall environment.
The negative feedback largely centers around specific operational issues and the venue's upkeep:
While this review pertains to Ned Kellys in Bray, it's worth noting that a couple of the provided user reviews mention "Dublin town" or "O'Connell street" (which is in Dublin). This could indicate other branches of Ned Kellys, or the reviewers might be mistaken about the specific location when sharing their experience. Potential visitors should verify the exact branch if these location details are a concern.
Ned Kellys presents a mixed bag. On one hand, there are clear instances of excellent customer service and a welcoming attitude from certain staff members, particularly for regular patrons of the pool tables. On the other hand, serious concerns about opaque billing practices for pool, especially deposits and monitoring playing time, coupled with consistent complaints about the venue's cleanliness and overall condition, significantly detract from the experience. For those considering a visit, it might be advisable to clarify pricing and rules upfront, especially for pool table usage, and be prepared for a potentially less-than-fresh environment. Given the feedback, there might be "better casinos and better priced tables near" as one reviewer suggested.
Went here yesterday payed 30 + 10 euro deposit for-two tables. While we where playing my friends on the other table got abit bored of playing pool and decided to watch us play mind you this was about 40 minutes into the hour and the light was still on.While my two friends where watching us play a staff member came down and said you cannot sit there and watch us play when we explained the situation they literally ignored us. Then when we went to pay they refused to give us are ten euro deposit back and forced us to pay an extra ten euro for my friends not playing on the table that was payed for. By far the worst place I’ve played pool the place absolutely stunk and I’m not surprised considering it was at some random casino on O’Connell street.
The woman behind the desk was very nice and welcoming but that was it. The place is not in great condition and unfortunately smells quite unpleasant, a type of smell that sticks to your clothes
I lost my cards in Dublin town and one of your employees found them and kept them safe for me inside the bar I am very grateful for his work and to reach out to me the employee was Almos Zathureczky thanks again!
I often go into Ned Kelly’s to play pool and there is a Mexican lady that is always so polite and welcoming
Scammed on the pool tables, they don’t keep count and insist you pay even after stating what you’ll pay for. There’s better casinos and better priced tables near
