Located in the heart of Colón City, Panama, the Crown Casino Washington, primarily known as a casino, appears to be a shadow of its former self, if it exists at all. Recent user reviews paint a consistent picture of a venue that is either closed, rundown, or completely defunct.
Multiple accounts from recent visitors strongly suggest that the Crown Casino Washington is no longer operational. Reviews frequently mention the place being "closed," "rundown," or explicitly state "it no longer exists." One user noted uncertainty about whether it was permanently closed or merely undergoing renovations, though the prevailing sentiment points to a more permanent cessation of operations. Visitors describe the overall condition as "rundown" with "nothing to see."
Beyond the casino's apparent disrepair, visitors have raised significant concerns about the surrounding area in Colón City. One reviewer issued a strong warning, stating, "Area is dangerous and I will not recommended if you are not from Colon City." This crucial piece of information suggests that even if the casino were to miraculously reopen, its location presents a considerable risk, especially for those unfamiliar with the city's environment.
Interestingly, one review offers a nostalgic look back at the casino's reported heyday in 1982. This patron recalled a vibrant establishment where "gold ran through the gaming tables" and a grand "ballroom" hosted entertainment, allowing guests to "taste a good Zacapa XO rum." This historical perspective starkly contrasts with its current dilapidated or non-existent status, highlighting a significant decline over the decades from a potentially opulent past to its present state.
Based on the overwhelming feedback from recent visitors, the Crown Casino Washington does not appear to be a viable or safe destination for anyone seeking a casino experience in Colón today. The consistent reports of its closure and disrepair, coupled with explicit warnings about the surrounding area's safety, lead to a clear recommendation against visiting. If you are looking for entertainment or gambling in Colón, it would be best to seek out verified and operational alternatives.
The place is rundown and as I writing this review it was close not sure permanent or for renovations. Area is dangerous and I will not recommended if you are not from Colon City.
Nothing to see the place, the one I knew in 1982 ran gold through the gaming tables, the princess and queen consort ballroom where you could taste a good Zacapa XO rum.
