Crown Casino Sheraton Guide and Review

Crown Casino Sheraton, located in the scenic Playa Bonita, Panama, presents a somewhat polarizing experience according to recent visitor feedback. While some aspects are praised, several critical issues appear to overshadow the positives, particularly concerning service and the core casino experience itself.
Overall Impression: Room for Improvement π
The sentiment from visitors is notably mixed, with a leaning towards disappointment. Reviews range from very negative one-star ratings to moderately positive four and five-star experiences, suggesting inconsistency or very specific points of satisfaction/dissatisfaction.
Key Observations from Visitor Reviews:
- Entry Experience & Staff Conduct: A significant concern highlighted was the entry process. One user reported being refused entry despite having valid U.S. identification, citing unprovoked trouble and rudeness from the front door guards. This points to potential issues with staff professionalism and customer service right from the outset.
- Casino Quality: The core casino offering itself has received strong criticism. One reviewer explicitly stated, "It must be a joke calling that place a casino, it really sucks...!", indicating a perceived lack of quality or excitement in the gaming area. While one positive review mentioned "different games just for adult people!!!" and "lottery," the overall impression of the casino floor seems to be underwhelming for some.
- Live Entertainment & Atmosphere: A notable positive mentioned is the presence of a "Great Friday live band" playing Salsa, Merengue, and Tipico music. This suggests the venue can offer a vibrant atmosphere for live music enthusiasts. However, one review from 3 years ago noted the casino was "empty", though this observation was made during a period when COVID-19 security measures were strictly implemented, which could explain the lack of crowds.
- Food & Service: The food quality has been consistently described as "terrible". Service, too, received harsh criticism, being labeled as "horrible". While prices were mentioned as "fair," poor service and food quality severely detract from the overall value.
- COVID-19 Measures: One review did positively note that "All covid 19 securities implemented", indicating that safety protocols were in place during the pandemic.
Conclusion: Weighing the Odds π²
For those considering a visit to Crown Casino Sheraton in Playa Bonita, it appears that expectations should be tempered. While the venue may offer enjoyable live music and implements safety measures (as seen during COVID), the fundamental aspects of a casino experience β namely the quality of the gaming floor, customer service, and food offerings β seem to fall short based on multiple accounts. Potential visitors should be aware of the reported issues with staff conduct and the overall casino environment. If live music is your primary interest, especially on Fridays, it might be worth a look, but don't expect a premium gaming or dining experience.
front door guards on October 17th at 1:30am would not let us in even though we had valid ID and wanted to give us trouble for no reason. We were not rowdy or rude we simply handed our real USA IDβs and he gave us trouble for fun. Found a better casino anyways!
