Salsa's Bar & Grill in Playa Bonita, Panama, presents itself as a multifaceted establishment, primarily functioning as a casino but also known for its lively bar, entertainment options, and even salsa lessons. User experiences here are quite varied, painting a picture of both enjoyable highlights and notable drawbacks.
For those seeking a gaming experience, Salsa's offers a casino floor that some find quite enjoyable. Patrons appreciate the opportunity to hit the slot machines, with one reviewer highlighting it as the "most enjoyable" among local casinos they've tried. The presence of a welcoming floor manager, such as Griselle, contributes to a positive atmosphere, making guests feel both safe and welcomed. A significant perk for casino-goers is the availability of free Cerveza (beer) and other drinks, adding value to the gaming experience.
However, the casino aspect is not without its criticisms. A major concern raised is a 5.5% fee applied when cashing out winnings from slots. This seemingly nationwide policy has frustrated visitors, leading to deductions that can significantly impact a player's return. Furthermore, service at the cashiers can be inconsistent, with one user reporting an unhelpful or glaring older cashier while other patrons faced long lines.
True to its name, Salsa's Bar & Grill offers more than just gambling. It's recognized as a great place for concerts and fun, boasting "unbeatable prices" on its offerings. The bar is lauded for its good cocktails and great beer options, making it a solid spot for a night out regardless of whether you're gambling.
The "Salsa" in its name isn't just for show either; the venue hosts salsa lessons. Reviewers note a "nice design for salsa dancing," suggesting a layout conducive to movement. While music can be pretty loud before the main crowd arrives, the space is clearly designed to accommodate dancers.
The culinary aspect of Salsa's Bar & Grill receives mixed feedback. One reviewer explicitly states the food was "terrible", advising visitors to "come well fed". Conversely, another found the advertised and menu food selections to be "bargains" and expressed an intention to try them in the future. This suggests that while value might be a draw, the quality might be inconsistent or simply not to everyone's taste.
In terms of safety and crowd, Salsa's generally earns positive marks. It's described as attracting an "adult crowd", and the presence of police at the entrance is appreciated by some, contributing to a feeling of security. The staff, in general, are often described as friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
In conclusion, Salsa's Bar & Grill offers a diverse entertainment option in Playa Bonita. It can be a vibrant spot for gaming, enjoying live music, or dancing the night away, especially if you appreciate the perks of free drinks and competitive pricing. However, potential visitors should be aware of the cash-out fees in the casino and manage their expectations regarding the food quality.
ah. i do go to a lot of casinos all over the wold as i enjoy doing so and have a budget for it. There's something funny going on here. I put in 200 into at the slots took out 156 and then on cashing discovered they lop off 5.5 % for some reason. I wonder which amazing person in the local gambling industry thought that was a good idea! Looked on line- seems it is nationwide. But the low star rating was because on of the 2 cashiers- an older lady- just sat there on the phone or just glaring while the other person serviced a long line of patrons cashing in heir tickets
Adult crowd, like the fact of having Police at the entrance. Food was terrible, come well fed
We love to hit a slot machine or 2 . Tried a few casino in area this by far was the most enjoyable. Staff was friendly and attentive. We felt safe and welcomed. Floor manager Griselle could be seen welcoming guest highly recommend. Yes free Cerveza ( beer) drinks.
