Sortis Casino

Sortis Casino, nestled in Playa Bonita, Panama, positions itself as a notable destination for casino enthusiasts. Drawing from recent visitor feedback, this establishment offers a broad spectrum of gaming opportunities within a considerable space. However, potential visitors should be aware of specific operational details and player experiences that might influence their visit.

Gaming Variety & Facilities 👍

A consistent positive highlighted by reviewers is the spaciousness of Sortis Casino and the sheer variety of gaming options available. The casino caters to diverse preferences, featuring:

Beyond the gaming itself, guests have noted value-added perks such as free drinks while gambling and the provision of free chips with an initial buy-in, which can enhance the gaming session.

Player Experience & Key Concerns ⚠️

Despite the extensive game selection, several user reviews bring to light significant concerns, primarily pertaining to the player experience and local regulations. The most frequently cited issue is the 5.5% tax on cash-outs from table games. This tax is reportedly applied not only to winnings but also to a portion of the initial money bought in, a policy described by some as a "terrible" national law. This specific tax structure might encourage players to opt for smaller, more frequent buy-ins to mitigate the tax impact on larger sums.

Another crucial point of feedback concerns the atmosphere at certain table games, particularly Blackjack. One reviewer detailed experiencing constant begging for chips and derogatory "trash talk" from other players at their table. Alarmingly, this behavior was allegedly tolerated by the dealers and pit bosses, creating an unprofessional and unwelcoming environment that prompted the reviewer to state they would not return. For Blackjack players, it's also worth noting that tables typically feature a $5-$300 betting range and utilize continuous shuffle machines.

Roulette players have also shared observations of what they perceived as an unusual frequency of 0s and 00s appearing, which, while subjective to individual luck, can influence a player's perceived fairness and enjoyment.

Overall Impression

Sortis Casino offers a comprehensive gaming experience in Playa Bonita, boasting a spacious environment and a robust selection of games, including a commendable poker room. The complimentary drinks and initial free chips are a nice touch. However, visitors should be prepared for the distinctive 5.5% cash-out tax on table games, which can significantly impact returns. Additionally, some table game environments may suffer from a lack of strict control over player etiquette, leading to a less professional atmosphere for some. While some patrons have had "good times" and found the place "nice," others have departed with significant reservations due to these specific operational and experiential caveats.

Have gambled at multiple casinos in town; saw more 0s and 00s on the roulette table at this establishment than I’ve seen in my entire (roulette) gambling career, all in a 3 hour time frame, with as many as 3 up on the history chart at one time. Had fun though, and free drinks during gambling were nice. They also give you free chips with your first buy-in.

Pros: Spacious, a lot of slots, variety of table games (baccarat, blackjack, roulette, Texas Hold'em table game), Bingo, Sports book, and a large poker room.Cons: While playing blackjack, the dealers and pit bosses allowed constant player begging and trash talk to strangers. I don't know anyone at my table and I have no interest in giving them money. Several players were constantly hounding me for $5 chips, which I refused each and every time (saying that I didn't speak Spanish so they'd stop). When I was betting big ($300) and winning, players were yelling at me for not giving them money for hitting/standing on their $5 hands. The pit boss was there and allowed this to happen. Very unprofessional and I will never play here again. Also, all of the blackjack tables are only $5-300 with continuous shuffle machines.Last note, for table games, you pay 5.5% tax on what you cash out, including your own money. This encourages people to constantly buy in for $20 at a time to avoid tax on a larger buyin. So dumb. I believe this is a (terrible) national law.
