The Winmeier Hotel in Chiclayo, Peru, positions itself as a destination with a primary casino focus, yet most guest experiences primarily revolve around its hotel amenities. Based on recent feedback, the hotel offers a blend of positive aspects and significant areas for improvement, particularly concerning its perceived star rating and guest comfort.
Guest opinions on the rooms are quite varied. While some reviewers found the rooms to be clean and in good condition, others expressed disappointment, stating that the rooms "don't look like a 4-star hotel" and that the hotel overall "looks neglected." A recurring and significant point of frustration for multiple guests is the lack of conveniently located electrical outlets. Several reviewers reported only having two outlets in the entire room, none at the bedside, and none in the bathroom. This makes charging multiple modern devices a notable inconvenience, especially for those who rely on their phone for an alarm.
Across the board, the staff and service receive consistently positive remarks. Reviewers describe the service as "very good" and the staff as "nice." This suggests a strong point for the hotel, with employees generally being helpful and accommodating to guests.
The hotel features a pool, which some guests found to be a positive amenity. However, its usability is severely limited by restrictive operating hours, typically from 10 AM to 6 PM. This schedule meant guests, including children, often had to wait to use it and couldn't enjoy it into the evening, even in warm weather. Attempts to use the patio area by the pool at night, even without swimming, were reportedly denied, with management not allowing lights to be turned on. While the hotel's primary type is a casino, the provided reviews do not offer specific feedback on the casino facilities or experience itself.
The breakfast service at Winmeier Hotel is generally well-regarded, with guests describing it as "very nice." However, one reviewer noted an instance where they were not allowed to take breakfast to a room for a sick person, which was seen as an unreasonable policy, particularly during what were referred to as "Covid times."
A significant complaint from one reviewer, despite paradoxically giving a 5-star rating, was the excessive noise from a live rock band playing until 2 AM on a Saturday night. This highlights a potential issue with soundproofing, especially given the hotel's primary function as a place for rest. The reviewer also humorously added that "the band wasn't too good," suggesting an unpleasant auditory experience.
Winmeier Hotel appears to be a property with some good fundamentals β friendly staff, good service, and a pleasant breakfast. However, its execution in certain key areas, such as room amenities (particularly the lack of convenient outlets), restrictive pool access, and occasional noise management issues, detracts from the overall guest experience. Some guests felt the hotel did not live up to a "4-star" expectation, suggesting a need for renovation, better maintenance, or policy adjustments to enhance guest comfort.
The Winmeier Hotel could be an adequate choice for travelers in Chiclayo seeking friendly service and a decent breakfast. However, those expecting a modern 4-star experience with full amenities like bedside device charging and accessible evening pool options may find it falls short of expectations. If you are sensitive to noise, it might be advisable to inquire about event schedules before booking, especially if your stay includes weekends.
The hotel looks neglected, the services is not good, the rooms donβt loook like 4 star hotel, is clearly not the place we were expecting
This hotel was adequate. The service was very good. The rooms don't have any outlets near the nightstand, so I needed to charge my phone across the room. That's fine, but my phone also serves as my alarm. It was a minor inconvenience. The rooms were clean and in good condition.
A small problem with this hotel1. Saturday night at 10:00 pm a rock band was playing extremely loud music until 2:00 am.. Management it's a hotel, it's where people sleep.2. How about sound proofing the music room.3. The band wasn't too good. The staff, breakfast and pool were great.Steve from Australia
Very clean hotel with nice staff. The pool hours are only from 10 am to 6 pm which meant every day there were kids (and usually adults) waiting for at least an hour to get in and then well before dark they had to get out (it's summer now and they days are long.) Then we wanted to hang out by the pool at night because we had a group of almost ten but we couldn't even get permission to turn on the lights on the patio. =( Also there were only two outlets in the entire room (not at bedside) and none in the bathroom. This made charging all devices for two people impossible. Breakfast was very nice but they wouldn't let us take it to the room for one person who wasn't feeling well. In Covid times, that seems ridiculous.
They got all the services. You could be there for meetings or for family business. You wont be disapointed! And if you want more youll have everything else pretty close.
