Casino Estoril Guide and Review

Casino Estoril, situated in TrΓ³ia, Portugal, offers a multifaceted experience to its visitors. While praised for its traditional ambiance and generally pleasant atmosphere, the establishment also faces criticism regarding safety and customer service in certain areas.
Ambiance & Atmosphere β¨
Visitors frequently describe Casino Estoril as a place that exudes a sense of history, feeling "like walking back in time." It possesses a "fabulous" and "large old casino with its own kind of charm," contributing significantly to a unique and engaging environment. While one guest noted it as "small but well organized," the overarching impression points to a grand, traditional setting.
Highlights & Positive Aspects π
- Security and Entry: The casino employs a system of "added security at the door," involving an identification check and the issuance of an "entrance card" for future visits. This approach is appreciated by some for enhancing the sense of order and safety.
- Dining & Entertainment: The onsite
Mandolin restaurant is highly regarded, with one reviewer calling it "great!" Beyond the gaming floor, Casino Estoril also functions as a notable "music venue," featuring "great sound" and a "perfect" size that is "not too big not too small." - Staff & Service: Interactions with staff are generally positive, with employees frequently described as "nice and attentive," as well as "helpful and friendly." This contributes to a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
- Drink Pricing: Visitors have found the pricing of beverages to be quite reasonable, noting that "drinks were not as expensive as I thought" and are at "reasonable prices," which is a notable advantage in a casino setting.
- Crowd Level: For those who prefer a more relaxed gambling or entertainment experience, the casino is often "not too many people around," allowing for comfortable enjoyment without excessive crowds.
- Winning Potential: The allure of the gaming floor is evident, with at least one fortunate visitor reporting a win "enough on video poker to pay for it!", adding to the excitement and potential rewards.
Areas for Improvement & Concerns β οΈ
- Car Park Safety: A serious concern raised by a patron involved the casino's car park. It was reported to have "no lighting" at night and "obstacles that should have been removed," which unfortunately led to a fall. This indicates a significant oversight in patron safety.
- Customer Service Post-Incident: Following the car park incident, there was a reported lack of response from the Casino regarding insurance policy information, despite the injured party sending multiple emails. This highlights a potential deficiency in their incident management and customer support.
- Player Promotions: One visitor expressed "disappointment that there were no free drinks or any kind of promotion for players going on" during their visit. The absence of such incentives could be a point of improvement for enhancing the overall gaming experience for patrons.
Overall Recommendation
Casino Estoril offers a distinctive experience, particularly appealing to those who enjoy a classic casino ambiance complemented by attentive staff and fair drink prices. Its dedicated music venue stands out as a strong positive. However, prospective visitors should be aware of the critical safety issues reported concerning the car park and the challenging post-incident customer service. While a visit can undoubtedly be "great fun" and potentially rewarding, it is imperative that management addresses these safety and communication concerns to ensure a consistently safe and positive experience for all patrons.
I had a fall in the Casino's car park. It was at night and there was no lighting. There are obstacles that should have been removed. Despite writing two emails to the addresses provided, I did not receive a response from the Casino with the information about the insurance policy, so the only option left for me is legal action.
This place is fabulous. Like walking back in time. I especially liked the added security at the door, where you show your identification and receive an entrance card to use in the futureMandolin restaurant is great! And I won enough on video poker to pay for it!
It was pleasant experience. People was nice and attentive. Not too many people around. It was great fun. Drink were not as expensive as i thought. Place is small but well organized
An large old casino with it's own kind of charm. Was a bit disappointed that there were no free drinks or any kind of promotion for players going on when I visited.
We stopped in on a Thursday evening, just to have a look. Everyone needs to register for entry and the attendant helped us do it in a very friendly manner. It was pretty quiet in the entire casino, except for the gaming room on the second floor. We are not gamblers but it was interesting to see how many losers were at the roulette tables. The poker tables were very busy.Wanted to buy some live show tickets for an upcoming event but very surprised to learn that besides cash, which we didn't have, they only accept Portuguese credit cards, so be aware.I'm sure the casino atmosphere would be much livelier on a weekend night with entertainment going on.
