Palace Casino Guide and Review

Nestled within the historic Casa Vernescu, the Palace Casino in Bucharest offers a distinctive blend of old-world charm and modern gaming. Reviews highlight its stunning architecture and luxurious atmosphere, though experiences can vary significantly depending on individual expectations and perhaps, the luck of the draw at the tables.
Atmosphere and Ambiance β¨
The casino is frequently praised for its breathtaking setting. Visitors consistently describe the location as "absolutely stunning" with a "luxurious and elegant atmosphere." The "grand entrance and interior" are noted for making guests feel like royalty, blending the historic charm of Casa Vernescu with the casino experience. It's often recommended as a must-visit spot simply to admire the setting, even for those not primarily focused on gambling.
Staff and Service π€
Feedback on the staff is largely positive, with many reviewers noting them as "professional, welcoming," "polite and discreet." This contributes to an overall enjoyable experience for many patrons. However, there is a contrasting review mentioning that some dealers can be "unprofessional" and even laugh at foreign gamblers, which indicates an inconsistency in service quality.
Gaming Experience π²
The Palace Casino offers a variety of gaming options, including "many tables to play, some with Euros some with Lei," catering to different preferences and currencies. Both "Live Games or Slot Machines" are available. While some appreciate the range, a critical review points out issues like "minimum hands are too high" and "machines have problems." The casino is also described by one reviewer as being "small and crowded," which might affect the comfort level for some players.
Food and Beverage π½οΈπΉ
The availability and quality of food and drinks present a mixed picture. Some visitors report enjoying a restaurant experience, with one noting a "simple but great" meal after playing, and another mentioning "unlimited access to the Casino's restaurant." Free drinks are generally available if you are playing. However, a negative review claims the casino "don't have food" and "skim on drinks for non VIPs far more than other casinos." Another clarifies that first-time visitors might only receive limited options like "toast with cheese and ham" at the dining room, suggesting varying levels of complimentary offerings.
Practical Information and Considerations π‘
For those planning a visit, a few practical points emerge from the reviews:
- Payment: Be aware that there is a "minimum of 500 lei" if you wish to pay with a card.
- First-time Visitors: Initial food offerings might be limited to simple fare like toast.
- Drink Service: There may be a perceived difference in complimentary drink service between VIPs and non-VIPs.
- Currency: Tables operate in both Euros and Romanian Lei.
Overall Verdict β / β
The Palace Casino in Bucharest undeniably stands out for its magnificent setting and elegant ambiance, making it a compelling destination for those who appreciate grandeur. Many visitors enjoy the professional staff and the range of gaming options. However, potential visitors should be aware of possible inconsistencies in dealer professionalism, the availability of comprehensive dining options, and drink service for non-VIPs. It's a place that can offer a truly luxurious experience for some, while others might encounter specific frustrations, particularly around gaming minimums and service nuances.
Absolutely stunning location with a luxurious and elegant atmosphere! The Palace Casino offers a grand entrance and interior that truly makes you feel like royalty. The staff were professional, welcoming, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and tastefully decorated. Whether you're here to play or just to admire the setting, itβs a must-visit spot in the city. Highly recommended!
I spent my evening there and enjoyed the nice atmosphere. The staff were polite and discreet. It was my first time, and I managed to eat at the restaurant after a few hours of playing. The meal was simple but great. Definitely recommend.
The worst possible experience. They skim on drinks for non VIPs far more than other casinos, don't have food, and worst of all dealers are unprofessional and often even laugh at foreign gamblers in Romanian. Minimum hands are too high, machines have problems, it's small and crowded. I can continue but I won't bother. Just don't go
The atmosphere is amazing, the building is very nice. There are many tables to play, some with Euros some with Lei. If you visit for the first time you will only get toast with cheese and ham at the dining room. There are free drinks if you play off course. And, if you want to pay with card it's a minimum of 500lei.
