Marina Bay Sands Casino

Located in the vibrant city of Singapore, Marina Bay Sands Casino stands as a prominent entertainment hub, offering a luxurious and expansive gaming experience. It's not just a casino; it's a spectacle, attracting both serious gamblers and curious tourists alike with its opulent atmosphere and wide array of options.

Gaming & Entertainment Options 🎲

The casino boasts an impressive scale, featuring four levels of gaming floor-space. Visitors can choose from a vast selection of games:

  1. Table Games: With over 500 options, classic games like Roulette, Blackjack, Sic-Bo, and Baccarat are readily available. Minimum bets vary, with Roulette starting at $5 for inside bets and $25 for outside bets. Blackjack tables typically have higher minimums, ranging from $50 to $75 depending on the variant (e.g., 6/5 or 3/2 payouts).
  2. Electronic Gaming Machines: Over 3,000 electronic gaming machines, including popular slot machines with relatively cheap minimum bets, cater to various preferences. Electronic roulette machines can also be found on the second floor.

For convenience, most machines accept cash directly, and any remaining credit can be redeemed via a receipt, which can be used on other machines or converted back to money without needing a specific membership registration.

Entry & Visitor Information πŸ›‚

Entering the Marina Bay Sands Casino has distinct rules, particularly for locals versus foreigners:

Important Tips for Entry:

  1. Cash: It's advisable to bring some cash, as ATMs right outside the casino can have long queues.
  2. Bags: Do not bring big bags or luggage; small bags or fanny packs are generally permitted.
  3. Photos: While it's generally acceptable to take photos inside, refrain from doing so directly in front of staff members.

Atmosphere & Comfort Considerations 🚬

The casino offers a truly luxury feel, making it an interesting place to observe the dynamic environment, even if not gambling. Complimentary non-alcoholic drinks are available at counters throughout the gaming floors, a welcome amenity for visitors.

However, a significant point of contention for many non-smoking visitors is the prevalence of indoor smoking. Smoke can be smelled throughout the first floor and generally permeates the air. If you are sensitive to smoke, bringing a mask might be a consideration, as the casino is often described as a "lung cancer paradise" by those bothered by the smoke.

The casino can get very crowded, even during off-peak hours like 11 AM, which can contribute to slower service or longer queues at entry and rewards counters. Some visitors have also noted a lack of clear instructions for tourists and at times, inefficient staff at the rewards counter.

Gambling Prudence & Experience πŸ’Έ

For many travelers, the casino is seen more as an entertainment venue than a guaranteed path to winnings. Some visitors strongly recommend enjoying the luxurious ambiance and watching the games rather than betting significant amounts of "hard-working money." Spending a couple of hours and a moderate sum for the experience, without the primary goal of winning, seems to be a common and advised approach for tourists looking for entertainment.

While the casino offers a lot for those interested in gambling, some non-gambling tourists might find "nothing much" to engage with beyond observing the scene, despite its grandeur.

Good casino experience for me. Quite an interesting place to spend money for entertainment (without having a goal to win money). I arrived at 11 AM and the place is already very crowded. The security check at entrance was strict, the Indian staff at the front was not friendly. She tried to rush people in the line to show e-visa or everyone must go back to the line and queue up, as if she has KPI for head counts through turnstile. Once I walked in, I smelled the indoor smoking, pretty annoying for a non smoker like me. I went to exchange for chips. It is $25 each. I tried my luck at roulette tables and the dice game. There are free drinks counters at every corner. The second floor has electronic roulette machines too. Nothing much for non gambling tourists like me. Spent $200 in 2 hours. OK

🟦 The Marina Bay Sands Casino has four levels of gaming floor-space, over 500 table games and up to 3,000 electronic gaming machines to choose from.🟧The MBS Casino was officially opened in 2010. ⬛️ Singapore citizens have to pay SGD150 as entry fee per person, whereas tourists gets to enter the casino for free ( βœ”οΈupon strict checks of their passports etc).🟩 My photos were taken over a period of several years. πŸ”·οΈ The facade & exterior of the casino were taken by myself.🟨 The interior photos of the casino were taken by my hubby's cousin who came from London, England (🟦 the cousin is a UK citizen and so he could enter the MBS Casino for free).βœ…οΈ He took a few pics for me to view:)

The Marina Bay Sands Casino is a massive venue with a wide range of gaming options, from slot machines to table games like blackjack and roulette. However, the overall experience was somewhat disappointing. The staff often appeared bored and irritated, which detracted from the atmosphere.Additionally, smoking is allowed inside the casino, which may be unpleasant for non-smokers. While it’s an impressive destination for avid casino players, it’s not a place I would visit again. That said, for gaming enthusiasts, it might still be worth experiencing.
