Resorts World Sentosa Casino

Located on Singapore's vibrant Sentosa Island, Resorts World Sentosa Casino is a central part of a larger integrated resort, promising a diverse range of entertainment, dining, and retail experiences alongside its gaming facilities. While it is celebrated for its comprehensive offerings, some aspects of service and logistics have drawn criticism from visitors.

The Integrated Experience & Amenities 🛍️🍽️🎭

A significant highlight of Resorts World Sentosa is its seamless integration with a bustling mall, offering a sophisticated leisure experience. Reviewers consistently praise the upscale shopping options, diverse international dining choices (from fine dining to casual eateries), and a variety of entertainment venues including theaters, spas, and nightlife. This creates an inviting and vibrant atmosphere where visitors can enjoy activities well beyond just gaming. The overall ambiance is described as sophisticated and welcoming, often complemented by attentive service and well-maintained environments.

Casino Experience & Entry Process ♠️🎰

For those interested in the gaming aspect, the casino generally offers an efficient entry process. International visitors can typically gain access easily with their passport and ICA confirmation email. Obtaining a free member card is quick, taking only a few minutes. Poker players, for instance, have found the experience enjoyable, appreciating the opportunity to play and interact with fellow enthusiasts. While poker tables with higher blinds (e.g., $10/$20) are readily available, some feedback suggests that on weekdays, options for lower stakes (such as $1/$2 or $2/$3) might be limited, which could potentially affect player turnout. Despite this, the gaming environment is often described as fun, with friendly interactions at the tables.

Areas for Improvement: Service & Logistics 🚧🗣️

However, the overall guest experience at Resorts World Sentosa Casino faces challenges in specific areas, primarily concerning staff conduct and island access logistics:

  1. Inconsistent Staff Professionalism: Several reviews highlight issues with the casino's reception and security staff. Instances of "unprofessional and discourteous behavior" are reported, including employees being "extremely rude" and allowing other individuals to cut lines. A recurring point of contention is the handling of age verification for those under 21; while the policy is understood, guests accompanied by children expressed frustration over "repeatedly approaching and confronting" methods, suggesting a preference for a single, respectful reminder.
  2. Island Entry Toll for Hotel Guests: A notable logistical concern for guests staying at RWS hotels is the imposition of an SGD$6 toll for taxis or hail cars entering Sentosa Island. This toll can reportedly only be waived by presenting a QR code, which guests often cannot obtain until after checking in. This "silly" system causes inconvenience and unexpected charges for hotel guests, leading one reviewer to prefer staying at alternative locations like Marina Bay Sands.

Conclusion

Resorts World Sentosa Casino, as a key component of Singapore's integrated resort landscape, delivers a compelling experience through its extensive amenities and diverse entertainment options. The ease of casino entry and the quality of gaming, particularly for specific games like poker, are generally well-regarded. To truly elevate its standing, the resort should focus on ensuring consistent staff professionalism across all touchpoints and refining logistical processes, especially the island entry system for its hotel guests. Despite these areas for improvement, Resorts World Sentosa remains a significant destination for leisure and gaming in Singapore, offering a rich environment for both locals and international visitors.

Our recent visit to the Casino at Sentosa was deeply disappointing. As tourists, we were denied entry simply because we were not carrying our original passports. Despite offering to show digital copies alongside our national ID cards (from our country of residence), the staff were adamant about requiring only original passports, with no exceptions. What made the situation even more frustrating was the lack of clear communication—nowhere on the official website, booking platforms, or tourist information was it explicitly mentioned that original passports are mandatory for entry. This oversight is highly inconvenient for tourists who may not carry their passports at all times, especially when visiting an island destination like Sentosa. To make matters worse, a staff member in a light blue shirt was particularly rude and dismissive. He failed to explain the policy properly, refused to listen, and left us feeling unwelcome and unheard.Suggestion: Please make the passport requirement highly visible and clearly communicated across all relevant platforms, including at entry points, websites, and brochures. It’s unreasonable to expect tourists to return all the way to their hotel just to retrieve a document that could easily be verified with a secure digital or ID backup.Overall, this experience was frustrating and unsatisfactory, especially from a tourist’s perspective who expects hospitality and clear communication in a world-class destination like Singapore.

Guests staying in RWS hotels need to show QRcode when using Taxi or HailCar to get into the Isle or get charged a toll of SGD$6 each time. It's so silly. How do you expect the guest to get the QRcode before checking in?I think I would rather stay in MBS in marina bay area

I was at the casino around end of October 2024.Entrance was very easy with the present of passport and ICA confirmation email. It was my first time so I had to make a member card, which is free. After filling some personal information, it take 5 mins to finish which was quick. Now I could enter the poker area, blind are 5/10 or 10/20 ... but because no one played with blinds 5/10 so I joined the 10/20$ table. It was 14h30 and there was only 2 tables open (total 4 tables).I played until 8 PM and there were only 3 tables open. Maybe it was in week day so not much peoples could participate. It was fun, even blind is quite big for me. If they have more variable of blind (1/2$, 2/3$ ...) it may attract more peoples. Players were also nice, I did had some chit/chat and they were open to discuss hands.I will def return when I come back to Singapore.
