Perla, Resort & Entertainment Guide and Review

Perla, Resort & Entertainment in Lipica, Slovenia, stands out as a multifaceted destination, primarily recognized for its casino, but also encompassing hotel amenities and recreational opportunities. Based on recent guest feedback, it offers a mixed bag of experiences, showcasing both commendable aspects and significant areas ripe for improvement, particularly concerning its gaming operations and, in one instance, concerning customer service.
๐จ Accommodation & Comfort
Guests frequently praise the hotel's ability to provide a comfortable and welcoming stay. The attention to guest comfort is a consistent highlight:
- Very comfortable rooms are a recurring positive, ensuring a restful experience.
- The inclusion of huge pillows specifically received mention for contributing to a luxurious feel.
- Comfortable beds are noted, promising a pleasant night's sleep even if the room decor isn't always described as "modern."
๐๏ธ๐ดโโ๏ธ Location & Activities
The resort's geographical positioning is a definite advantage, appealing to various types of travelers:
- Perla boasts an excellent location, being just a few minutes drive from the Italian border, making it convenient for cross-country excursions.
- For the active visitor, the area provides great pathways for cycling and running, ideal for enjoying the Slovenian landscape.
๐ Dining & Staff
The culinary offerings and the general demeanor of the hotel staff contribute positively to the guest experience:
- The food quality receives positive remarks, described simply as "good food" by patrons.
- The hotel staff are generally considered very helpful and friendly, fostering a welcoming environment for guests.
๐๐ Casino Experience & Gaming
As a primary casino establishment, specific feedback regarding its gaming aspects, particularly poker tournaments, highlights areas needing attention:
- A persistent issue noted by regular poker players is the lack of table service during tournaments, which can detract from the overall gaming experience.
- Concerns have been raised regarding the premature introduction of big denomination chips, creating challenges for players with smaller stacks during early game stages.
- One recent observation described the general atmosphere within the casino as people seeming "disassociated," suggesting a lack of vibrancy or engagement among patrons.
๐จ Customer Service Concerns
A significant and troubling issue emerged from recent reviews concerning direct customer service interactions, which warrants serious attention:
- A highly negative experience was reported at the customer service desk, involving a staff member allegedly yelling at and pushing a child, described as "very rude." This incident indicates a severe lapse in professional conduct and service quality that prospective visitors should be aware of.
Conclusion:
Perla, Resort & Entertainment in Lipica offers a compelling package for those seeking comfortable accommodation and an excellent base for exploring the beautiful cross-border region, especially for outdoor activities. The hotel staff and dining options generally receive positive marks. However, the casino aspect, while central, has identified operational quirks that could be improved to enhance player satisfaction. Crucially, the isolated but severe report of aggressive and unprofessional customer service raises a red flag regarding staff training and guest relations, urging potential visitors to exercise caution and for the management to address such critical feedback promptly.
Lived the place. Staff is very helpful, the rooms are very comfortable - the pillows are huge! If by any chance you decide to go for a run, the hotel is very well situated. Just a few minutes from Italy, and great pathways for cycling, and running. Didn't try the breakfast, but my colleagues were not disappointed.
Very nice hotel, good food and people. Not so modern rooms, but very plesent stay and comfortable bed.
Now visiting regularly for poker tournaments. There is room for improvement: table service still does not exist, big denomination chips are still introduced too early, so small stacks had a constant struggle early game.
