Watch our Casino Barrière Biarritz review

Nestled in the heart of San Sebastián, the Casino Barrière Biarritz stands proudly on the seafront, offering a blend of gaming, dining, and scenic beauty. This casino promises an experience, though opinions on its execution vary among visitors.

The Good: Location, Views, and Ambiance ✨

  • Unbeatable Location and Views: Almost universally praised, the casino boasts an excellent location directly on the seafront and beach. Guests frequently highlight the "great views" over the "seafront and beach," making it a picturesque spot to enjoy. The building itself is described as "great looking."
  • "Cosy" Atmosphere: Visitors have found the casino to be "cosy," suggesting a comfortable and intimate environment for gaming and relaxation.
  • Dining Experience: One reviewer noted "good service and nice food," indicating that the culinary offerings can be a pleasant part of the visit.
  • Real Table Action: For serious players, it's worth noting that "real table action" for games like blackjack is available, with one tip suggesting a return "after 8pm" for the best experience.

Areas for Improvement: Staff and Gaming Specifics ⚠️

  • Inconsistent Staff Experience: This is a significant point of contention. While one review mentioned "awesome staff," a recurring theme in more recent feedback points to issues with staff demeanor.
    • Rude and Arrogant Personnel: Several visitors reported encountering "rudest and most arrogant waiter" and "very rude, hostile, and arrogant" staff specifically at the entrance. This negativity around staff interactions is a notable concern for potential visitors.
    • Poor Service Incidents: Specific instances of staff not listening properly, refusing simple requests (like a little milk), or leaving items unopened contribute to a perception of subpar service in some cases.
  • Gaming Tables: A specific piece of advice for players is to "avoid the blackjack computer table," suggesting that the electronic versions might not offer the same enjoyable experience as the live tables.

Overall Impression

The Casino Barrière Biarritz undeniably benefits from its stunning location and captivating seafront views, providing a beautiful backdrop for a night out. The "cosy" ambiance and the availability of "real table action" for gaming are strong draws. However, the experience appears to be significantly impacted by inconsistencies in staff behavior, with multiple reports of rudeness and arrogance. While the food and general service can be good, potential visitors should be aware of the varying experiences with staff. If you're seeking a casino with a prime location and are willing to overlook potential staff issues, especially for live table games after 8 PM, it might be worth a visit. Otherwise, the inconsistent service could detract from the overall enjoyment.

The place is nice, very close to the beach. But we suffered the rudest and most arrogant waiter we have ever seen. Don’t know the reason, but he didn’t listen properly when we were asking, then refused to bring a little milk and left a bottle unopened. We’ll never come back to this place.

Such a cosy casino, right?! Great views but awesome staff. Avoid the blackjack computer table and teturn after 8pm for the real table action! Would go back!!

The staff at the entrance is very rude, hostile, and arrogant. I have read many reviews similar to mine, but it seems this is definitely not an issue for them.P.S. Small acts of kindness make a big difference.
