Casino Cosmopol Stockholm, situated in the heart of Sweden's capital, holds the distinction of being Stockholm's primary and seemingly sole casino destination. However, recent user experiences paint a rather mixed, often negative, picture of this establishment. While some historical feedback highlights professionalism and fun, a significant majority of current reviews raise considerable concerns about access, adherence to rules, and overall value for money.
A recurring and prominent issue cited by multiple visitors revolves around the casino's seemingly arbitrary and often frustrating entry policy. Several reviewers recount being denied access despite asserting they were appropriately dressed and behaving normally. Reasons given for denial have included:
These incidents suggest a potentially unpredictable and unwelcoming security process that has left many visitors feeling confused, unfairly treated, and describing the place as "shady as hell."
Beyond the entry hurdles, the actual gaming experience inside Casino Cosmopol Stockholm also attracts significant criticism:
The combination of an entry fee, no free drinks, and complaints about game fairness contributes to a sense that the casino is more focused on profit extraction than on guest entertainment or satisfaction.
Several reviews indirectly or directly point to Casino Cosmopol's status as the "only casino in Stockholm" as a potential reason for its perceived shortcomings. Without direct competition, the casino may lack the incentive to enhance customer service or offer more competitive benefits, potentially leading to a less customer-centric approach.
Amidst the predominantly negative recent feedback, one older review (from five years ago) stands out, describing Casino Cosmopol as a "great place" with "professional service, secure, and fun." This review also praised "good bartenders and friendly / helpful staff" and correctly noted the requirement for valid identification. It's important to note that this positive experience is significantly older than the recent negative ones, suggesting a possible decline in service standards or policy changes over time.
Based on recent user reviews, Casino Cosmopol Stockholm appears to be an establishment with significant issues, particularly regarding its unpredictable entry policies, perceived unfairness in games, and additional costs like a mandatory membership fee with no complimentary benefits. While some historical praise exists, the overwhelming sentiment from recent visitors is one of dissatisfaction and frustration. Potential visitors should be aware of the stringent and sometimes arbitrary entry requirements, the lack of typical casino perks, and the general atmosphere that many describe as unwelcoming or not enjoyable. Consider alternatives for entertainment in Stockholm if a classic, customer-friendly casino experience is what you seek.
The security did not let us in, even though we dressed in suits and we where behaving normal. We had dinner that evening at aria (2 stars) and had a few drinks but we where not drunk by any means. It seems very randomized and very odd for a casino to deny you access based on your prior alcohol consumption, as it is usually in a casinos interest to keep the guests drinking and spending their money. Stay away, this place seems shady as hell.
Terrible casino, we spent 150 euro in different games and they didnt even give us even one time bonus game, horrible, been in casinos all around the world but never experienced smth like this, i guess they wanna rip people, cause they are the only casino in Stockholm, also you pay 60 SEK just for membership and no free drinks, i do not reccomed this casino
We arrived at the casino at quarter past 10 and got denied access because the security guards were racist and said we were intoxicated before we approached the front door. They also said they don’t need our business because it is state owned. People of color beware these people are not nice and extremely racist in our view and I have never seen such rude behavior from security guards in my entire life. I asked for names to complain to the police but they would not give them. It is unfortunate they are closed for the next three days because that’s how long we are visiting or else we would’ve taken this up with higher authorities.
Great place. Professional service, secure, and fun. Remember to take valid identification with you otherwise you won't get in.Good bartenders and friendly / helpful staff.
