Delving into the patron experiences at Grand Casino Bern, located in Fribourg city, Switzerland, this review compiles insights from recent visitors, offering a balanced perspective on what to expect from this casino destination.
Grand Casino Bern is frequently described as a beautiful and large establishment. Visitors have noted its spacious environment and the presence of numerous gaming tables and slot machines, contributing to an overall pleasant atmosphere. While some have found it to be quiet, particularly on weeknights or during specific events like Bingo night, others appreciate the tranquil setting for gaming. One visitor specifically noted that despite initial doubts from other online reviews, they found it to be a normal casino without any traps or scams.
The casino offers a good selection of popular games for enthusiasts:
Accessing the casino typically involves an entry fee of 10 Swiss Francs (CHF), which often includes a complimentary drink. Some visitors have also utilized free entry tickets, such as those provided by hotels, which also often come with a free drink. A cloakroom service is available for a small fee, typically around 2 CHF, for keeping personal items like backpacks secure.
This is an area with mixed feedback. While some visitors had generally normal experiences, others pointed out a lack of friendliness and welcoming attitudes from the staff, describing some faces as "sad." The most critical feedback concerns a specific incident in the poker room where a dealer's actions were deemed highly unprofessional, revealing a player's folded hand mid-game. This highlights a need for consistent professional standards across all gaming areas and a focus on creating a more enjoyable atmosphere for guests.
Beyond individual gaming, Grand Casino Bern is also recognized as a suitable venue for big events, suggesting it has the capacity and facilities to host larger gatherings and functions.
Grand Casino Bern generally offers a solid casino experience in a beautiful and spacious setting with a variety of gaming options. It's a place where visitors can have fun, whether playing table games like roulette and blackjack, trying their luck at slots, or attending specific events like Bingo night. The complimentary drink with entry and the option for free entry through hotel affiliations are nice perks.
However, potential visitors, especially poker players, should be aware of past issues concerning staff professionalism and overall demeanor. While the venue itself is well-regarded and offers diverse gaming opportunities, an improvement in staff hospitality and consistent adherence to game etiquette would significantly elevate the visitor experience. Despite these areas for improvement, for those looking for a diverse gaming experience in a grand setting in Fribourg, Grand Casino Bern remains a viable option.
I was there a few years ago to play Poker. The dealer revealed my hand in the middle of the game when I fold. What a no-go and an unprofessional thing to do. That’s called “POKER” dude..
Very nice Casino, beautiful and big. I went there alone, and everything was normal. Before I go there I read other googlemap reviews and I was a little doubtful about this place. But I went there alone and I can say no trap no scam, just another casino like others. I used a free entry ticket that they gave me in the hotel and got also a free drink. Paid 2CHF to the clockroom to keep my backpack. And I lost 40 chf playing roulette and blackjack. But i has fun there and it was the main reason i went there. The only thing is that i feel in this casino the obly thing missing is that the staff could be more friendly and welcoming! People go to casino to have fun, not just to see some sad faces and play...
Casino was quite, with lot of tables and slot machines. Normal entry costs 10 Frank and you get complimentary drink for that.
