MERKUR Slots, despite its name suggesting Liverpool, is a casino venue located in the bustling heart of Blackpool, United Kingdom. This establishment primarily offers slot machine gaming, attracting visitors looking for entertainment and the thrill of potential wins.
Customer experiences at MERKUR Slots are notably varied, particularly concerning staff interactions. On the one hand, several patrons have praised certain team members. Staff like Paul and Paddy have been highlighted for being "great," "friendly," and going "the extra mile" to ensure visitor safety and comfort. Other reviews also mention generally "good staff" and "friendly staff" contributing to a positive atmosphere.
However, more recent feedback includes significant concerns. One patron recounted a frustrating incident where a staff member in her 50s allegedly refused service after an ID check, claiming the ID didn't match the individual, despite the patron being 32, over 6ft tall, and stating this issue had never occurred at other Merkur Slots locations. This was described as a "complete joke" and led to a vow never to return to this specific branch. Additionally, other negative comments point to staff being "rude," "constantly watch[ing] you like you're gonna Rob a machine," and creating a "very uncomfortable" environment, even refusing promotions without clear reasoning.
When it comes to the gaming itself, reviews suggest a challenging experience for some. One user specifically mentioned playing an "Egyptian 12 free games" slot without any winnings, labeling it a "big con" and stating they had experienced "no wins" across several visits. This indicates that while the machines offer the potential for fun, actual payouts can be disappointing, leading to frustration for players.
MERKUR Slots in Blackpool is described as "no big Casino," suggesting it's a more intimate or focused slot venue rather than a large, comprehensive casino complex. Its location is a strong point, being "at the centre of everything," which makes it easily accessible for those exploring Blackpool's attractions.
Overall, MERKUR Slots in Blackpool appears to offer a convenient location for slot gaming, with certain staff members receiving high praise for their service and friendliness. However, potential visitors should be aware of inconsistencies in staff conduct, particularly regarding ID checks and overall customer interaction, as well as the inherent unpredictability and sometimes perceived lack of payouts from the gaming machines. It can be a place for "a little fun on machines" if you manage to hit it off with the right staff, but prepare for potentially mixed experiences.
I’m a 32 year old male who went here with my friend the other day. A woman in her 50’s of a large build ID’d me. I showed her my ID and she said it wasn’t me and refused me service. I found this to be a complete joke as i’m not even remotely baby faced and i’m over 6ft. This has never happened in any other Merkur Slots i have been to and I won’t ever be visiting this one again. That woman needs to go to Specsavers.
Avoid this place. My partner got on the Egyptian 12 free games and no winnings from it at all. Big con, few times been and no wins.
