Genting Casino Glasgow Guide and Review

Genting Casino Glasgow, located in the heart of Glasgow, United Kingdom, presents a highly polarizing experience for its patrons, based on recent user reviews. While one isolated positive comment highlights it as a good spot for social gatherings, the overwhelming sentiment leans towards significant dissatisfaction, with multiple serious concerns raised.
๐จ Customer Service & Staff Conduct: A Major Point of Contention
The most prominent and concerning issues reported by visitors revolve around staff behavior and customer service. Multiple reviewers describe unpleasant and even abusive interactions:
- Allegations of Bullying & Racism: One user recounted an incident involving a manager named "Tony," who was accused of bullying and displaying racist behavior, particularly towards non-white individuals. This manager allegedly refused to cash chips and demanded the customer leave after a friend started winning.
- Rude Security & Bouncers: Several accounts mention security guards and bouncers being "horrible" and generally unwelcoming, with one user specifically stating they were "kicked out for nothing."
- General Unprofessionalism: Another new player reported a specific staff member (brown hair and glasses) being "extremely rude."
Conversely, one reviewer did commend a "Chinese manager" as a "real gentleman" who handled a tense situation professionally. Another positive note highlighted an "older Scottish guy" (possibly with a moustache) for correctly checking ID and refusing entry, which was appreciated by a self-admitted gambling addict.
๐ธ Responsible Gambling & ID Checks: Inconsistent Practices
A significant area of concern for Genting Casino Glasgow is its reported inconsistency, and at times, outright failure, in upholding responsible gambling practices and ID checks.
- Lack of ID Verification: Users noted that ID is often not checked upon entry, even for new players or non-members. This lapse was particularly alarming for a chronic gambling addict who stated this allowed them to continue losing substantial amounts of money despite being on a self-exclusion scheme (ssense).
- Aggressive Behavior Towards Winners: One review detailed how a friend, despite not being a member and initially not having ID checked, was reportedly disturbed, had dealers changed, and was ultimately asked to leave after winning just ยฃ1000. This suggests a perceived intent from the casino to "want you to lose as much."
๐งผ Atmosphere & Cleanliness
Beyond the operational issues, the casino's environment itself has received criticism. One recent visitor described the place as "dead quiet" and, more importantly, "dirty."
๐ค Overall Recommendations & Alternatives
The negative experiences shared by the majority of reviewers strongly suggest that Genting Casino Glasgow struggles with core aspects of customer service, responsible gambling, and maintaining a welcoming environment. The prevailing advice from dissatisfied patrons is to avoid this establishment.
Several users specifically recommend visiting Grosvenor Casino Merchant City as a significantly better alternative, citing it as "much bigger" and staffed by "very friendly staff." One reviewer even urged authorities to "visit this casino time in time," indicating the severity of their concerns.
While one reviewer found it a "Best place to meet old friends for drinks," this positive comment stands in stark contrast to the detailed and critical feedback from other patrons.
Visited on Sunday this week, the place was dead quite, dirty. I played machine and was down about ยฃ800. My friend was not the member but they didnโt check his id and let him go. When he started winning only ยฃ1000 they keep coming to him and disturbing and keep changing the dealer. They want you to loose as much and never ask the id but when you start winning they ask you to leave. I feel The guy called Tony ( one of manager) used his position to bully me and I feel racism there. My friend gave me ยฃ200 chips. I wanted to cash and use in machine but he refused it. He asked me to leave. I feel he wanted me to give him ยฃ200 and leave. If you are not white this guy mis behave you. The management should sack this guy. The manager who seems Chinese is a real gentleman as always and he tried to calm down the situation. I have seen him dealing with customers professionally many times. I urge everyone to avoid this place. There is a much better casino in merchant city called Grosvenor. Much bigger casino and very friendly staff. The authority should visit this casino time in time
Got kicked out for nothing bouncers are horribleHappened around march last yearGo to merchant city casino well better ๐๐ป
As a chronic gambling addict who is signed up to ssense. This place's security measures are awful compared the Grosvenor competitor. Never ask for ID and of course I succumbed to losing a ton of money. Again. Also one staff member in particular, brown hair and glasses, was extremely rude to me as a new player. I wouldn't recommend going to any casino as they are all crooks but this one is the worst of the bunch. Shout out to the one staff member who correctly did his job by checking my I.D and refusing me entry, older Scottish guy, think he had a moustache. Don't know how the staff sleep at night, although that applies to any casino I guess. This place ruins lives. Shame on Genting.
Might wanna tell your security guards to cheer up abit the absolute fairyโs ,
