Located on Northumberland Street in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, Admiral Casino operates primarily as a casino and amusement arcade. Drawing from a range of user experiences, it appears to be a venue that offers a mix of entertainment and potential frustrations, with opinions varying widely on its machines, staff, and overall atmosphere.
For those seeking a diverse gaming experience, Admiral Casino has been described by some patrons as a "huge arcade with a good variety of machines." Visitors can expect to find a selection of different types of £500 jackpot machines, numerous 30p a play machines, and even a nostalgic touch with "loads of old classics that are 10p a spin." This suggests a broad appeal, catering to various player preferences and budgets within the gambling machine spectrum.
However, a significant point of contention highlighted by recent reviews is the reliability and fairness of the gaming machines. Multiple users have reported distressing incidents where machines malfunctioned, either failing to credit winnings or shutting down unexpectedly, leading to considerable financial losses. One particularly negative account describes losing hundreds of pounds due to machines going "off" and refusing to restart, labelling the experience as "disgraceful" and "shocking." Such reports cast a shadow over the otherwise promising variety of games available.
The quality of staff interaction at Admiral Casino seems to be a mixed bag. Positive feedback praises the staff for being "really friendly" and providing a "warm welcome," often extending courtesies such as offering drinks upon arrival. This indicates a potentially pleasant and attentive service experience for some visitors, contributing to a comfortable atmosphere.
Conversely, other reviews paint a less favourable picture. Complaints include staff being "misguided" and providing incorrect instructions due to a lack of understanding of the rules. A particularly strong criticism was directed at the "attitude of the manager," described as "really bad," leading to a highly negative overall impression for some customers who faced issues.
Admiral Casino is noted for its facilities, which include a dedicated cafe area for refreshments, and a designated smoking area, offering convenience for patrons who smoke. An important detail for all prospective visitors is that the establishment is strictly over 18 only. This age restriction is in place as the venue exclusively features gambling machines.
One highly pertinent review offers a stark reminder about the inherent risks of gambling. While acknowledging the fun and excitement of winning, it strongly advises patrons to "walk away when you are not" and to avoid falling into the trap of chasing losses. The reviewer shares cautionary tales of individuals who have lost significant amounts, even "everything," in similar venues. This serves as a vital caveat for anyone considering a visit: gambling at Admiral Casino, like any casino, involves significant financial risk. It is imperative to play responsibly and only with money one can afford to lose, viewing it as entertainment rather than a means of assured profit.
Admiral Casino on Northumberland Street in Newcastle upon Tyne offers a potentially expansive range of gambling machines within a "huge arcade" environment, complemented by facilities like a cafe and smoking area. While some visitors experience a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, critical issues concerning machine reliability and inconsistent staff behaviour, including managerial conduct, significantly impact the overall experience for others. Prospective visitors should approach with caution, keeping the mixed reviews in mind and always prioritizing responsible gambling.
If you are looking for some fun while you win some money, here is your place... ( as long as you are 18 that is, or over or is it 21 )You best check that, don't trust me on that.Other than that, as long as you are winning its fantastic, walk away when you are not, don't fall into that trap.I know plenty of people that have lost a lot one who lost everything. Not here but in several of these kinds of places & casinos... its so not worth it, but for some fun as long as you can afford to risk it & lose it, then it's great fun especially when you win.
Staff misguided and lost 30 pounds. The attitude of the manager is really bad. Lot of good casinos are in Newcastle but this one is really bad. Even though staff have no idea about the rules they will give instructions too.
