Located in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, MERKUR Slots presents itself as a casino offering a range of gaming machines. User reviews for this establishment paint a highly polarized picture, with experiences ranging from exceptional hospitality to deeply concerning operational and staff conduct issues.
Several patrons have lauded MERKUR Slots for its immediate welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff. Positive feedback highlights:
One reviewer even mentioned having a "good day" because they "actually came out winning," adding to a positive overall impression for some.
However, a stark contrast emerges from other reviews, detailing serious issues that overshadow the positive aspects. These concerns primarily revolve around specific staff behaviour, questionable operational policies, and accessibility problems:
A significant complaint targets a worker named Wayne, described as "quite rude" with an "I don't care mindset." The reviewer felt he was "disrespectful towards customers," taking "joy in his face as you lose your bet," and making "backhanded comments." This made the experience "unpleasant."
One extensive review details severe issues with the venue manager, identified as Anthony (Anth). Concerns include:
Beyond staff conduct, several operational aspects drew criticism:
A major point of criticism is the accessibility for disabled patrons. The "disabled toilet is often closed for repairs." Furthermore, the manager is accused of refusing admission if a disabled person asks to use the toilet after it has been cleaned, stating he "does not accept disability as a problem."
MERKUR Slots in Newcastle appears to be a busy venue, popular with a "mainly young clientele" in a "noisy environment." However, the stark contrast in customer experiences suggests significant inconsistencies in management and staff training. While some visitors enjoy the welcoming approach and variety of machines, others face severe issues related to customer service, fairness, safety, and accessibility.
Prospective visitors should be aware of these highly varied experiences. Improvements in staff training, adherence to fair play policies, maintenance of accessible facilities, and a review of cleaning practices could significantly enhance the overall customer experience at MERKUR Slots.
I am writing ths review about a worker named Wayne. I found him to be quite rude clearly has an I don’t care mindset, disrespectful towards customers as he’s standing behind you watching you play you can see the joy in his face as you lose your bet which is clearly frustrated and his backhanded comments he makes. His attitude made my experience unpleasant, and I believe customer service should be better.
I found this place to be good, but however I find out after 5 month after the place opened and after winning a few draws, that I was no longer allowed in to play anymore, due to a friend working there? I would question this on several reasons, 1) how did the so called manager (Anth) and 2) the area manager female) not know this (after all they should know the rules) but they allowed me to play, until two weeks ago. Furthermore to this I found the place to be exessive in its cleaning. And what I mean by this is, as soon as you leave one machine to another the staff are cleaning it before you left your seat, hoovering up and leaving the flex for all to trip over , health and saftey need to visit on this matter, customer service is okay but please allow the customer to sit down, or look to what they wish to play before asking Tea/coffee/soft drink etc?please dont be disabled here as the disabled toilet is often closed for repairs. And the so called daily offers are truly bad, ( you are allowed to claim upto 10.00 cash match, however there is massive snag to this offer? you have to go in during the day to claim 5.00 and then go back in on the eve to claim the other 5.00, but wait for it! if you dont claim the aft 5.00 then you cannot claim the eve. seriously what a waste of time.I also add that the venue manager has told me that there is no point in making a complaint as he in his words (has the backing of Ken head office person on all matters of complaints, and fultile in even considering making one. seriously what you expect when they in secret relationship, talk about who you know and not what ! ( oh by the way Anthony the manager has gloated to this on many occasions to customers and staff)Please do not think of asking to use the toilet after it has been cleaned as you can be asked to leave under the rule (refusal admission) and he does not accept diability as a problem, these are the words of a manager, I seriously feel that his words such as "I hate people and customers, hate disabled people" would make anyone want to go into this place, and these words are vile and sikening and should never said directly to the customers I feel that if Merkur slots in newcastle had someone new then you just may, mabe just! get more customers in. and I wish I had never entered in this venue
A fairly new addition to the Newcastle scene appealing to a mainly young clientelle full of gaming machines of all kinds in a noisy environment centrally situated Popular with this age group and very busy
