MERKUR Slots on Granby Street, located in Nottingham city, is a casino primarily focused on slot machines. Based on recent visitor feedback, experiences at this venue are quite varied, ranging from enjoyable casual play to frustrating encounters, highlighting both its appealing aspects and significant areas ripe for improvement.
Visitors generally find a decent variety of slot machines available, offering different themes and game types to cater to diverse preferences. One reviewer specifically noted enjoying the animation and music of the games, creating a positive atmosphere for casual betting and simply enjoying the play without being solely focused on large wins.
However, a recurring concern among patrons is the maintenance of the machines. Some reported issues such as buttons sticking or screens appearing noticeably worn, which can unfortunately detract from the overall enjoyment and smooth operation of certain games.
The casino's location is often cited as convenient, making it accessible for both locals and visitors in Nottingham.
In terms of ambiance, feedback suggests the decor feels somewhat outdated and the lighting is dimmer than expected. Several reviewers believe that upgrading the interior design and enhancing the lighting could significantly contribute to a more engaging and visually appealing atmosphere.
Dining options within the establishment appear to be limited, with some visitors noting a lack of variety for food and beverages. One particular complaint arose from a patron being told there were limits on complimentary sweets and drinks due to low stock, which caused considerable frustration.
Staff interactions at MERKUR Slots have received mixed reviews. On the positive side, one visitor highlighted a lady staff member as being nice and friendly, which contributed to a pleasant overall experience.
Conversely, other patrons reported less favorable interactions. Incidents included a staff member being perceived as confrontational and antagonizing during a discussion about how a machine button was being pressed. Another negative experience involved a staff member restricting complimentary snacks and drinks, leading to an "embarrassing" situation for the customer.
A notable concern raised was the lack of visible security personnel on the gaming floor. This absence could potentially raise questions about safety and the casino's approach to responsible gambling oversight.
A significant negative point for some players revolves around the machine payouts. One user reported a particularly disheartening experience, losing a substantial amount on a jackpot machine only to win a much smaller sum, leading them to describe the payouts as "terrible."
This perception of poor payouts might contribute to the observation by some reviewers that "hardly anyone plays in here," suggesting potentially low player traffic compared to other establishments.
MERKUR Slots - Leicester Granby Street in Nottingham offers a convenient location and a good range of slot machines. For individuals seeking casual entertainment and who appreciate the interactive elements, animation, and music of the games, it can provide a pleasant experience, especially when encountering friendly staff. However, potential visitors should be aware of possible issues with machine maintenance, an outdated interior, and limited amenities. This one Indian guy who works here claims u can have limited sweets and drink as they’re low on stock? I come in here and waste my money to be told I can have limited snacks. Lol embarrassing I don’t think so.
Visited this branch a while ago and was told I was hitting the button of the machine by the black member of staff. I explained to him that I wasn't hitting the button to which he replied I can hear it from the counter and then became very confrontational and antagonising towards me, all while he was smiling in my face. I have been to other amusement arcades and showed them how I was pressing the button and they have agreed with me that I was not hitting the button and have agreed that in all the years that they have known me I haven't ever even punched a machine out of frustration
Do not play here as per the other reviews the machine payouts are terribleI ended up losing £800 on a £100 Jackpot machine to win £200 at the endHardly anyone plays in here
