Located in the Shirley area of Southampton, Admiral Casino offers a typical casino experience focused primarily on slot machines. User feedback presents a mixed picture, highlighting strong opinions on gaming fairness, atmosphere, and facility cleanliness. This review synthesizes various patron experiences to provide a comprehensive understanding of what to expect.
The most contentious aspect of Admiral Casino, Shirley, revolves around its gaming machines, particularly the slots. Many patrons express significant dissatisfaction with the payout rates and bonus frequency. One particularly critical reviewer, with 20 years of experience, states that the slots are the "worst paying" they have ever encountered. This sentiment is echoed by others who lament difficulty in securing bonuses and find that even when they do, the returns are not substantial, especially given the reported maximum payout of £500.
There's a perception among some users that the odds of winning have been reduced, possibly to offset financial pressures. Concerns have also been raised about the casino's alleged practice of increasing Return to Player (RTP) percentages only for higher £2 stakes, which some feel encourages larger bets and potentially greater losses.
Conversely, one reviewer claims to "always seem to win in this particular branch more than other branches," suggesting that individual experiences can vary wildly. Another mentions that Admiral does offer "good bonuses," but also notes a personal lack of recent wins, pointing out that some machines "seem to play differently and can be exceptionally greedy." This stark contrast in experiences regarding payouts is a key takeaway for prospective visitors.
The atmosphere at Admiral Casino, Shirley, generally receives a positive mention, with one user describing it as "always a great atmosphere." However, opinions on the staff are more divided. While one long-term patron expressed regret over the departure of a "best member of staff," another review paints a less flattering picture, describing the staff as "very strange, like zombies." This suggests that staff presence and demeanor can significantly impact a visitor's overall perception.
A major point of concern highlighted by reviewers is the cleanliness of the facilities, specifically the toilets. One particularly graphic account details "human waste all over the toilet walls and sink," which is a significant hygiene issue. While the general "shop itself is nice" according to one comment, the severe cleanliness issues in the restrooms could significantly detract from the overall experience for many visitors.
For those looking for an extended gaming session, the value for money at Admiral Casino, Shirley, is a significant concern. One reviewer starkly notes that £200 spent here might only last "30 minutes if you're lucky," contrasting it with a potentially "good night" at an "actual casino" for the same amount. This suggests that the entertainment value, particularly from the perspective of time spent on machines, may be limited due to the perceived low payout rates.
Overall, Admiral Casino: Shirley appears to be a venue with a dedicated following for some, particularly those who have had success with payouts. However, it faces strong criticism regarding the fairness of its slot machines, the consistency of its staff's demeanor, and most notably, the cleanliness of its facilities. Prospective visitors should temper expectations regarding potential winnings and be aware of reported hygiene issues.
Absolute dive of a place, slots are the worst paying slots I've ever seen in 20 years of playing slot machines. You can easily go through a few hundred on a 50p or pound denomination without a single bonus and when you do hit one it won't be nothing big.Which is crazy considering the max they payout is £500. They have Increased RTP for people playing £2 which is encouraging betting big and encouraging losing more money with the belief the game has better odds on a higher stake.Avoid at all costs and save your money.£200 in an actual casino will give you a good night and you'll have a good experience you'll be up and down and will enjoy the ride.£200 in this place will get you 30 minutes if you're lucky.
Always a great atmosphere and always seem to win in this particular branch more than other branches
Sorry to see in my opinion their best member of staff leave at the end of January. I wish her all the best in the future. From the gaming experience Admiral do give good bonuses buy unfortunately I never seem to win there of late. Some machines seem to play differently and can be exceptionally greedy. A lot of patrons feel the same way and feel odds of winning have been cut to increase profits to offset the losses caused by the pandemic. Shame if this is the case.
The staff tend to be very strange , like zombiesAnd ngl the shop it self is nice but toilets are always so dirty , last time I went there was human waste all over the toilet walls and sink
I recommend to all who suffer from insomnia. If you lose everything, do not panic. it means that you earn too little .. you have two options ... change job or find a woman ... if you have 100 GBP go to the casino .. the chances of winning are much bigger ... greetings to all dreamers ...
