Grosvenor Casino

Recent visitor feedback for Grosvenor Casino in Southampton paints a largely concerning picture, suggesting a significant decline in the overall customer experience. While once potentially considered a vibrant entertainment venue, several reviews highlight issues ranging from poor gaming machine performance to unprofessional staff conduct and a diminished atmosphere.

Gaming Experience & Payouts 💸

A dominant theme across multiple reviews is dissatisfaction with the gaming machines and their payouts. Patrons describe the machines as "crap" and feel that bonus payouts are frequently underwhelming, often coming in at under ÂŖ10. Some users reported long waits for bonuses on their chosen machines, while seemingly watching others win frequently nearby. This has led to strong suspicions of payout manipulation and an overwhelming feeling of consistently losing money.

One reviewer explicitly stated, "Don't enter you lose more than you win. You have 20% at beating the house. They have 80%... Don't bother people. Stay strong." The consensus among these reviews is that the casino is a "good way to waste your money" and a "money draining pit of despair" rather than a place for enjoyable gambling.

Staff Professionalism & Customer Service đŸ¤ĩ‍♀ī¸đŸ¤ĩ‍♂ī¸

Perhaps the most alarming feedback pertains to the professionalism and conduct of the casino staff and management. One particularly negative experience detailed:

  1. Dealers were described as under-experienced and unprofessional, including the use of homophobic slang.
  2. Payouts were allegedly incorrect due to dealers being untrained in counting.
  3. A manager, identified as "Benediction," reportedly mishandled a complaint. When asked to speak one-on-one, the manager allegedly made an unprofessional and inappropriate homophobic comment, stating "I don't like things like that I'm not gay."

This suggests serious concerns regarding staff training, ethical conduct, and management's ability to address customer grievances appropriately.

Atmosphere & Facilities đŸŊī¸

Beyond the gambling and staff issues, there are also comments about the decline in the overall ambiance and ancillary services.

Food Quality

One review from a year ago noted a significant drop in food quality, with a tagliatelle dish being described as "more like a frisbee." This indicates that the dining experience may not meet expectations.

Overall Ambiance

The general atmosphere is said to have "gone," with the casino transitioning from a "really adventure which included eating & drinking & a flutter" to an environment "dedicated to encouraging you to gamble as much money as quickly as possible." There's a longing for the casino to return to being a "destination venue" where a dress code might once again foster a more sophisticated and enjoyable experience, rather than its current perception as merely a "money draining pit."

Conclusion & Recommendation 🚩

Based on recent user experiences, Grosvenor Casino in Southampton appears to be struggling with significant issues across its gaming operations, staff professionalism, and overall customer appeal. The pervasive sentiment is one of disappointment and caution, with multiple reviewers explicitly advising potential visitors to "stay away". If you are seeking a positive and fair gambling experience with professional staff and a pleasant atmosphere, the collective feedback suggests that Grosvenor Casino Southampton may currently fall short of expectations.

There's a reason I am choosing to stay away. It's the sheer fact that their machines are crap! Bonus pay outs mostly under a ÂŖ10 win when it does hit. Sometimes took too long for a bonus to come in yet machines next to me or elsewhere kept hitting. I tried to change it up a bit but maybe I'm just bad luck or they don't want me to win! Because no surprise I kept losing and everyone else kept winning! I believe there was some manipulation on with the payouts for the machines I played. This isn't the 1st time I've had so much bad luck here. But I can assure you it will be my last for a very long time! Take my advice people..stay away!

My experience in grovenors casino was an absolutel disgrace due to he fact the staff are unprofessiona & dealers were absolutely rude under trained.1. The dealers are under experience and unprofessional. Using rude words (homphobic slang)2. Payouts were never right due to the underexperaced and not trained to count.3. The manager didn't know how to handle situations when It come to colleagues under his belt. Due to the fact he knew they was wrong.I reached out for the manager (beddidiction.)I asked him (the manager) to speak 1 on 1 and he made a comment saying I don't like things like that I'm not gay , which is unprofessional. Please NOT visit this bookies. It is not a good experience..

What a difference from the last time we were here, the food wasn't great my brother had tagliatelle which was more like a frisbee. The atmosphere has gone. Hopefully they will turn it around as it used to be really good.

I used to love a night out in the casino, a really adventure which included eating & drinking & a flutter.......unfortunately all that has gone & Governor Casinos have become environments dedicated to encouraging you to gamble as much money as quickly as possibleHere's a suggestion; bring back a dress code & make the casino a destination venue worth going to again, rather than a money draining pit of despairJust a thought
