Grosvenor Casino Guide and Review

Grosvenor Casino in Swansea offers a typical casino experience, but reviews from recent visitors present a stark contrast in perceptions, highlighting both enjoyable aspects and serious concerns.
The Gaming Floor π²
The casino provides a variety of gaming options, including both table games and a selection of video slot machines (though no traditional reel slots were noted). For some, the gaming experience was positive, with a few lucky patrons even reporting leaving with a profit.
Concerns Raised:
- Allegations of Manipulation: One highly critical review explicitly claimed that poker dealers were "scammers" who showed cards to customers and that roulette was "100% manipulated." These are severe accusations, though they stem from a single account.
- Dealer Competence: Beyond manipulation claims, another user reported that poker dealers "don't know the rules" of the game.
Staff and Service Experience π€
This is perhaps the most divisive area of feedback, with experiences ranging from highly positive to deeply negative.
Positive Feedback:
- Friendly Staff: Some visitors praised the staff as "friendly" and highlighted "great service throughout," particularly noting good service from dining staff.
Significant Negative Feedback:
- Racism Allegations: Multiple reviews raised serious concerns about racism. One group described being denied alcohol service based on ethnicity, while English females in the same party were allowed more drinks, despite similar consumption.
- Inconsistent Entry Policies: Reports indicate issues with bouncers being perceived as "thuglife" and inconsistent in their entry criteria. One account describes adults in their 40s being denied entry for being "drunk" after a meal and drinks, while others perceived as "trainer wearing Β£5 spenders" were allowed in.
- General Management Issues: Broader complaints about "bad management" were also noted.
Food & Drink π½οΈπΉ
Opinions on the culinary offerings are split. One review praised the "good food" with a "reasonably broad menu" and "reasonable prices." A full bar is available to complement the dining experience. However, another reviewer explicitly stated the food was "Bad food," indicating a potential inconsistency in quality or individual preferences.
Atmosphere & Accessibility πͺ
The casino was described as "lightly crowded" during one visit, suggesting it can be a comfortable environment. However, the issues with entry policies, as detailed under staff and service, suggest that accessibility can be unpredictable and potentially discriminatory for some groups.
Overall Verdict β¨
Grosvenor Casino Swansea presents a highly mixed and inconsistent experience based on customer reviews. While some patrons have enjoyed entertaining evenings with pleasant staff, good food, and even financial gains, others have encountered very serious issues including allegations of game manipulation, staff incompetence, and deeply concerning claims of racism and arbitrary entry policies. Prospective visitors should be aware of these contrasting reports, as the quality of their visit may vary significantly.
It was a fun evening with friendly staff. Shout out to Vi (Wolletta) in dining. Food was good with great service through out. My luck was fair and left Β£190 ahead! Iβd return as the menu is reasonably broad and the quality good. It was lightly crowded with a fair selection of video slot machines (no reels). Table games available. Full bar. Prices were reasonable.
Poker dealers are scammers I saw them 2 times for one game showing card to a costumer at the table that was my first and last visit at this casin!Roulette are %100 manipulated which have to be like %73 but still no one win!Worst ever!Scamming for sure! Also bad management dealers donβt know the rules or poker!Bad foodand very racist!
Wow!! What can I say ! 2 of us, sat night, few drinks amd meal, it's cold, we head to casino to end the night. Thuglife bouncer who likes the trainer wearing Β£5 spenders who drink free Pepsi are allowed in, but my friend is classed as drunk and not allowed in ? Were adults, in our 40s, and have money to spend......Oh well, I guess loss making is the way these days .....
We as a party of 4. 2 girls 2 men. Very much enjoy until suddenly the 2 men bare in mind they are Turkish we're not allowed any more alchol we're as us 2 English females were allowed more alchol when we had drunk the same amount. They couldn't provide an answer as neither of the men were drunk. Based on the elderly bar staff reaction to them. We as a group definitely felt she had some racism in her the way she reacted at them and cut them off suddenly but not us
