Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Guide and Review

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa consistently stands out as a premier destination in Atlantic City, offering an experience that is both upscale and welcoming. Since its opening, it has maintained its reputation as a magnificent and stunning property, often described as the most classy casino in the area. Guests frequently note the hotel's inviting atmosphere, with a pleasant aroma throughout, reminiscent of a spa.
Casino Experience π°
As a primary casino destination, Borgata excels in its gaming offerings. The casino floor is described as top-notch and well-stocked, providing a diverse selection for all types of players:
- Slot Machines: Ranging from penny slots (though not just 0.01 cent per spin) to high-limit machines costing upwards of $100 per spin, ensuring options for various budgets and playing styles.
- Table Games: Ample table games mean guests can usually find a spot in their preferred game. Table minimums vary throughout the day and week, adjusting to demand.
- High-Limit Room: A particular highlight for many, featuring excellent machines and attentive drink service.
- Complimentary Drinks: Players enjoy free beverages, including coffee, water, soda, beer, and cocktails, brought directly to them while gaming.
Accommodation & Service π¨
The guest rooms at Borgata are consistently praised for being clean and well-appointed. Many rooms offer good views of the downtown area. Key features that enhance the stay include:
- Comfort: Beds are described as soft and supportive, contributing to a restful night.
- Accessibility: Walk-in showers with benches are a thoughtful touch, particularly convenient for guests with mobility issues.
- Security: Rooms are equipped with safes for valuables.
The hotel staff receives high marks for their friendliness and helpfulness, making guests feel valued from check-in to their departure. Service is generally described as great, whether assisting with room needs or providing drink service on the casino floor.
Dining, Bars & Entertainment π½οΈπ€
Borgata boasts an impressive array of dining and bar options, catering to diverse tastes and cravings. Reviewers highlight the "BEST BUFFET in Atlantic City" and note that food options across the board are solid. Beyond dining, the resort offers a full spectrum of entertainment:
- Numerous restaurants and fun bars.
- A dedicated club for nightlife.
- Regular comedy nights and other entertainment events.
Spa & Pools π§ββοΈπ
The resort includes a spa, contributing to the hotel's overall pleasant and relaxing aroma. When it comes to pools, there's an important distinction:
- Borgata's Main Pool: While available, some recent guests have expressed disappointment regarding its cleanliness and water temperature, describing it as "freezing."
- Connected MGM Pool: Guests have the option to walk over to the connected MGM hotel, which features an adults-only pool known for its relaxing atmosphere. This is a great alternative for those seeking a more tranquil swimming experience without children.
For comparison, some guests noted that the pool at the nearby Oceans Resort Casino offered a warmer, cleaner experience with additional amenities like a big-screen TV and indoor/outdoor options.
Location & Other Amenities π
Borgata's location is a key point to note. It is situated outside the main city area and is not within walking distance of the boardwalk or beach, requiring a drive for access. Parking is available for $10, which is not included in the stay. Additionally, Borgata is part of the Marriott brand, allowing guests to earn or use points, a significant advantage for loyal Marriott customers. The property also features higher-end shopping options.
Overall Recommendation β¨
Despite its distance from the boardwalk and potential pool temperature issues, Borgata remains a highly recommended destination in Atlantic City for those seeking a luxurious, entertaining, and service-oriented experience. Its comprehensive offerings, from the bustling casino floor and diverse dining to well-appointed rooms and attentive staff, make it a top choice for many visitors.
My Go-To Spot in Atlantic City!Borgata is hands down my favorite place to stay and play in Atlantic City. The vibe is upscale yet welcoming, and everything from the rooms to the dining to the casino floor is top-notch. The hotel is always clean, the service is great, and the overall energy is exciting without being overwhelming.I especially love the high-limit roomβgreat machines and excellent drink service. Plus, the food options are solid across the board, with something for every mood and craving. The staff always makes me feel like a valued guest, whether Iβm checking in, grabbing dinner, or playing the slots. If youβre heading to AC and want a place that delivers luxury, entertainment, and great comps, Borgata is it. Highly recommend!
This was my first time going to Atlantic City with my family. We just stayed for one night, but I wish it could have been for many more. The Borgata is absolutely extravagant and over-the-top nice. The rooms were perfect and clean. The service was impeccable. The restaurant options were great. Most importantly, the spa is insanely nice. It had the most calm and beautiful indoor room I have ever experienced. We also loved how grand the pool was. The size of that indoor room was very cool! Last but not least, the gym had everything you could possibly need. Would highly recommend this as both a destination or a stop on the way through town.
I remember when they opened. Everyone "oohhhed and aahhhed" at this magnificent place. Still stunning to this day. There's plenty of games on the casino floor to play. The table minimun rates change throughout the day/night depending on how busy it is and the date. The slot machines start at penny slots(don't be fooled, as you can't bet just .01 cent each spin), which can have great high payouts, and the minimum cost goes up 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 25 cents up to the high limit slots costing $5-$100+ a spin. Lots of restaurants, and the BEST BUFFET in Atlantic City, along with shopping, some higher end stores. Free drinks for players(Coffee, water. soda, beer, cocktails). Or you can visit one of the fun bars and enjoy your drink(s). There's a club, comedy nights, and entertainment. All around great times!!
Classy for an Atlantic City Casino. Spring decor was fresh and fun. The entire hotel smells amazing, like a spa. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Multiple restaurant and bar options. We now stay here over Oceans bc it's part of the Marriott brand so can earn or use points. Only downside is location; no beach or boardwalk access u less you drive.
The casino is outside of the city and not in walking distance of the boardwalk. The inside is very clean and the gaming area is well stocked with a variety of slot machines. They have enough table games so you can always get in on what ever game you are looking to play. The staff was super friendly and helped us with some things in our room. The room was clean and we had a good view of the downtown area. The shower was a walk in with a bench so if you have mobility issues it's very convenient. Bed was soft and supportive. Room does have a safe for your valuables. Parking is not included with your stay but it is only $10. If you don't like kids in pools, op to walk over to the MGM hotel that is connected to the Borgata. It's a adults only pool with a very relaxing feel to it.
