Harrah's Casino Guide and Review

Harrah's Casino in Atlantic City offers a mixed experience, often highlighted by its comfortable accommodations but occasionally marred by issues concerning noise, public area cleanliness, and its somewhat isolated location. While some visitors enjoy the calmer casino atmosphere, others find it lacks the usual buzz of a major gambling destination.
Accommodation & Comfort β¨
- Room Quality: Many guests report that the hotel rooms are nice, big, and clean. Features such as large windows, comfortable mattresses, and well-designed spaces are frequently praised. Some rooms even boast a separate tub and shower.
- Upgrades: It's possible to receive complimentary room upgrades, which can significantly enhance the stay experience.
- Check-in Process: The check-in procedure is generally described as fast and efficient.
- The Downside: Noise: A significant drawback mentioned by guests is the poor sound insulation in the rooms. This can lead to hearing conversations from neighboring rooms and even the sound of toilets flushing, impacting sleep quality and overall relaxation.
Dining & Amenities π½οΈ
- Food Options: Harrah's provides a good selection of food options for its guests.
- Pricing: Be prepared, as some reviewers note that food prices, especially for basic items, can be on the pricier side.
- Views: From the upper floors, guests can enjoy great views, offering a different perspective of Atlantic City away from the Boardwalk.
The Casino Experience & Cleanliness π²
- Casino Floor Vibe: The casino floor's atmosphere is a point of varied opinion. Some visitors describe it as "slow" or "quite," with fewer people gambling compared to other major Atlantic City casinos like Oceans or Caesars. For those who prefer a less crowded environment, this can be a positive; however, others might find it lacks energy.
- Cleanliness Concerns: A notable area of concern is the cleanliness of the gaming floor bathrooms. Reviews mention them being "disgusting" in both smell and cleanliness, with wads of toilet paper left in toilets. While the gaming floor itself generally looks fine, this particular aspect significantly detracts from the experience.
- Smokey Environment: As is typical for casinos, the gaming floor can be smokey.
Location & Accessibility π
- Distance from Boardwalk: Harrah's is located far from the iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk.
- Local Amenities: The immediate area around the casino lacks walkable restaurants or stores.
- Transportation: Guests can utilize the Jitney van service to access the Boardwalk and other areas, making transportation feasible despite the distance.
- Parking & Exterior: The exterior of the casino and the self-parking area can appear "a little shady" to some upon arrival, though the interior generally improves this impression.
Staff & Service π
- Helpful & Friendly: Employees throughout Harrah's are consistently described as helpful and friendly, contributing positively to the guest experience.
Overall Recommendation
Harrah's Casino offers a decent stay, particularly for those prioritizing comfortable and clean rooms with good food options. However, potential guests should be aware of the pervasive noise issues in the hotel rooms, the concerning state of public restrooms on the casino floor, and its somewhat isolated location in Atlantic City. It might be a good choice for a quiet gambling getaway, but less so for families with children or those seeking proximity to the Boardwalk's bustling atmosphere.
We originally booked the coastal room but got a free upgrade for my wife's birthday. Hotel room is nice and big. Wife and I loved the mattress and food options. Very nice design. What we didn't like was the noises. There's pretty much no sound insulation so we heard people talking all around and every single toilet flush from left, right and above our room. Everything else is what you'd expect at a casino. Smokey, pensioners gambling away their retirement staying at the same machine for hours. The usual overall it's decent.
The outside of the casino and self parking look a little shady but once you go inside to check in is ok. Check in process was fast and our room was very clean. I normally stay at Oceans but canβt lie the room was Nice. Didnβt even have to use my own Lysol like other places lol. To be honest food is pricey for basics. Casino floor was quite, oddly didnβt see much gambling compared to Oceans, Ceasers, etc. Wasnβt too much to do for a family with kids so respectfully might be our last time coming. No restaurants in the area or walkable stores, located far from Boardwalk but you can also catch the Jitney van. Hope my review helps, overall a good stay!
Slow in the casino. There is good food options. You basically had the casino to yourself. The views are great from the upper floor. It gives you a different perspective due to Iβm usually by the boardwalk. Employees were helpful and friendly.
I loved this place. The room was awesome. The bathroom has a run and a shower. And the windrow was big and I got 2 bed.
Bathrooms on the gaming floor are disgusting: both in smell and cleanliness. Several toilets were loaded with wads of toilet paper. The gaming floor itself looks fine.
