Golden Nugget Biloxi Hotel & Casino Guide and Review

The Golden Nugget Biloxi Hotel & Casino offers a blend of classic casino entertainment and lodging, but recent guest experiences reveal a significant inconsistency in quality, particularly concerning room cleanliness and staff professionalism. While some visitors enjoy their stay, others encounter serious issues that detract from the overall experience.
Room Experience π¨
Guest feedback on the rooms is sharply divided. Some visitors found their rooms, such as the Terrace/Queen, to be clean and comfortable, despite acknowledging them as a "bit older" or "dated." These guests appreciated the beautiful views from the balcony and noted that everything in the room functioned correctly. However, a concerning number of reviews highlight severe cleanliness issues. Multiple reports detail rooms that were dusty, had hair on the sheets, broken furniture, sticky grime on counters, and dirty floors. One particularly alarming account mentioned a moldy sofa bed that allegedly caused an allergic reaction in a child. Beyond cleanliness, some found the room design inconvenient, with a high threshold that caused tripping and a very small sink area lacking storage. It's clear that while some rooms might be maintained to a decent standard, others are in dire need of attention and updating.
Casino Floor & Gaming π°
The casino itself generally receives positive remarks. Guests appreciate the wide variety of slot machines, including both older favorites and new options. There are also plenty of tables and bars available for gaming and relaxation. The casino floor is often described as well-staffed, with visible security, beverage servers, and personnel keeping machines clean, contributing to a good gaming atmosphere.
Staff & Customer Service π€
This is arguably the most critical area of concern based on recent reviews. While one reviewer praised the staff as "professional and knowledgeable" and another noted a "friendly staff" overall (despite a specific shower issue), the overwhelming sentiment points to significant customer service shortcomings. Guests describe staff as generally unfriendly, "miserable," and even rude. Specific incidents include a check-in delay for a room not ready, a craps table dealer who was confrontational, and front desk managers who were dismissive and refused to address serious cleanliness complaints or issue refunds, even when presented with photo evidence. Attempts to escalate issues to corporate also reportedly went unanswered. A few bright spots were mentioned, such as a "really nice" lobby bartender and a "lovely young lady" serving by the pool, though the latter was noted as being the sole waitstaff for the entire pool area, indicating potential understaffing.
Amenities & Location π½οΈ
The Golden Nugget Biloxi is conveniently located just off Beach Blvd./Highway 90, near the Ocean Springs bridge. It's considered a good value for a hotel and casino. Beyond the casino, the property boasts several restaurants, including a highly-regarded steakhouse, and a Starbucks. Parking is abundant, and the location offers picturesque views of boat slips with sailboats directly behind the casino parking lot. The pool area, while considered by one to be "the best thing about this place," was also noted as needing updating by another. The size of the property means "itβs easy to get your steps in."
Overall Impression & Recommendation βοΈ
The Golden Nugget Biloxi presents a mixed bag. The casino floor and gaming options are generally well-received, offering variety and a lively atmosphere. The location is convenient and offers good value. However, the inconsistent and often poor quality of hotel rooms, combined with widespread complaints about unprofessional and unhelpful staff, significantly detract from the guest experience. While some may have a pleasant stay, potential visitors should be aware of the reported issues concerning cleanliness and customer service, which can be deal-breakers for many. Guests seeking a more consistent and attentive experience might consider alternative properties or be prepared for potential challenges if choosing the Golden Nugget Biloxi.
We enjoyed our stay in a Terrace/Queen room. The views from the balcony were beautiful and while the rooms were a bit older, everything worked and it was clean. The casino was great and offered both older slot machines and new ones. The staff was professional and knowledgeable. Plenty of staff on the casino floor (security, beverage servers and people keeping the machines clean). Great stay! Keep up the great work!
Overall we had a great experience for our weekend! The room was spacious and accommodating, and the pool was fantastic. We enjoyed being able to order food and drinks by the pool also. The gaming floor has a LOT to offer, new and old. We will be back!
Booked a room for one night and I couldnβt stay due to how dirty the room was. The room was dusty, a broken table and hair on the sheets. The staff was not friendly. Everyone that works there looks absolutely miserable. The only positive experience was the lovely young lady that waited on us by the pool. This poor girl was the only waitstaff for the entire pool area. Overall this was a very disappointing experience. The pool is the best thing about this place and even that needs to be updated. Please do better.
Stayed twice recently. The rooms weren't cleaned well either time. Dead insect, sticky grime on counters, dirty floors, appears to be a moldy sofa bed that caused a reaction in my kid. I asked for the room to be refunded the front manager. "Oh no, (scoff) we're not going to do that."When my kid woke up around 8am, she was extremely puffy and itchy. She needed medication. We couldn't figure it, we lifted up the sofa bed she slept on with bedding from GN. It was covered in what appeared to be mold and bleach staining from an attempted clean up previously. Around 8:30am checking out and I notified front desk. " I'm sorry for your inconvenience." No incident report, no notes written down in computer, no manager called. When we went back 8 nights later, I asked for a manager to address previous issues. There were no notes on the computer. I asked for a refund of that night, candy of my kids' choice, and an apology to her.I showed photos and videos."Oh no, ( scoff) we're not going to do that,"I've stayed at Lake Charles. We've never had an issue. Their rooms are clean well maintained. Customer service is exceptional.I emailed several times, and there were no replies, I even contacted Landrys corporate. It shouldn't have happened, I wasn't asking for anything extraordinary, just an actual apology to her, a candy of her choice and my night refund.I don't want some copy paste reply of"Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We apologize that the level of service we strive to maintain was not met during your visit and appreciate your feedback so we can address and improve our overall guest experience in the future." And "Im sorry for the inconvenience"If you are sorry, pick up the phone and make this right, apologize like a real human.
The Golden Nugget is a good value for a Hotel and Casino.Conveniently located right off of Beach Blvd./Hwy. 90 just before the Ocean Springs bridge.Rooms are dated but clean and comfortable. For that matter, that describes the whole place; Dated, but clean and comfortable.Plenty of parking, plenty of slots and tables. Plenty of bars. Several restaurants, a great steak house, a Starbucks and friendly staff. The shower would not turn all the way off, but it was basically a babbling brook to help you sleep. There are boat slips immediately behind the casino parking lot with some beautiful sailboats.Itβs easy to get your steps in.
