Harrah's Casino Gulf Coast in Biloxi, United States, presents a diverse experience for its visitors, blending standout service and scenic views with areas that suggest a need for updates and attention to detail. Based on recent guest feedback, the resort offers both delightful surprises and notable drawbacks.
A shining highlight is the pool bar (GBI Mix and Mingle). Guests rave about the quality of drinks, specifically noting bartender Marcus H. for crafting fresh-squeezed margaritas that surpass competitors in both taste and price. This personal touch and excellent value are significant reasons why some visitors plan to return and even choose to stay at Harrah's for future visits.
Many guests appreciate the beautiful hotel views, particularly those overlooking the Gulf. The rooms themselves are often described as clean and nice, contributing to a pleasant stay, especially for those close to the water.
The culinary offerings receive positive mentions, with food described as "yummy." Specific eateries like Mingle and Port 17 are highlighted, along with appreciation for the ice cream available. The presence of a 24/7 Steak & Shake is also noted as a convenient option, though the quality of its fries has been questioned by one reviewer.
While some find the casino floor on the smaller side or perceive it as empty, it is generally reported to be very clean. Guests also appreciate the welcoming demeanor of staff, with one reviewer noting a pleasant greeting upon entry.
The pool area is consistently praised as being "nice," offering a refreshing spot for relaxation.
One of the most frequently cited concerns revolves around the hotel's aging infrastructure and cleanliness. Specific criticisms include a narrow, dark parking garage, filthy elevators, and especially disgusting and soiled carpets in the hallways. This suggests a significant need for a deep cleaning and renovation of public hotel areas.
While rooms are generally clean, some guests found the furnishings dated, with beds having a "dip." Bathrooms are frequently mentioned as being extremely outdated, featuring very low toilets with stains and limited lighting. A common request is the inclusion of a mini fridge in the rooms.
Some visitors found "not much play" on the casino floor, describing it as typical, nothing special, and surprisingly empty compared to other casinos in the area. This can impact the overall lively atmosphere expected of a casino.
One reviewer noted that despite having a reservation, few rooms seemed to be left by 4 PM, which could indicate a potential issue with room allocation or availability management.
Harrah's Casino Gulf Coast has the potential for an excellent experience, especially with its great service at the pool bar, beautiful views, and convenient dining options. However, the dated appearance and cleanliness issues in some hotel areas (particularly hallways and bathrooms) are significant drawbacks that detract from the overall impression. For those prioritizing a vibrant casino floor, it might not be the most bustling option. Addressing these maintenance and aesthetic concerns would undoubtedly elevate the guest experience and make Harrah's a more consistent favorite on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
We actually stayed at the Margaritaville and were very disappointed they didn’t know how to make a good fresh margarita. We walked over to Harrahs pool bar (GBI Mix and Mingle) the bartender Marcus H. Made us fresh squeezed margaritas for 1/2 price compared to Margaritaville. Next time we are going to stay at Harrah’s.
Pulling into the narrow dark parking garage left me uncertain what I was in for . Check in was smooth but at 4 pm apparently few rooms were left despite a reservation. I piked that the hotel is to the right of the main entrance and casino to the left . The elevator was filthy and needs a hood cleaning along with the carpets in the hallways . They are disgusting and soiled. My bed had quite a dip in it and the furnishings are dated . The pictures on the walls went well with the room and charging station was perfect . My view over looked to gulf which was great ! The bathroom is extremely outdated , very low toilet and had toilet stains . Lighting was rather limited in the bathroom. Not much play on the casino floor. I hadn't eaten and was appreciative that steak & shake was open 24/7. The fries were less than favorable as the pile is old and needs to be changed .
Hotel had a beautiful view. The pool was nice. All the food we ate was yummy!! Mingle and Port 17 was awesome. Loved the ice cream there too.
Loved the room and being so close to the water. The rooms were clean and nice. They were just missing a mini fridge. The casino was kind of on the small side but it was very clean.
Not one of my favorites on the Mississippi gulf coast. It's OK they do have some different types of restaurants to choose from. We did not stay in the rooms . The gaming floor was typical nothing special. It was pretty empty compared to others we were at just before, kind of makes you wonder why? The lady at the door did greet us and thanked us for coming
