Anytime Laundry

Despite its listing as a "casino," Anytime Laundry in Council Bluffs, United States, functions primarily as a self-service laundromat. User reviews reveal a mixed bag of experiences, highlighting both convenient features and significant drawbacks. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect:

The Good 👍

  • Spacious Machines: Many users appreciate the availability of large washers and even larger dryers, making it convenient for washing bulky items like blankets and bedsheets quickly and easily.
  • On-Site Supplies: A vending machine is available that sells essential laundry items such as Tide, bleach, softener, and even laundry bags (though the bags are noted as being quite steep at $8). Detergent is priced at $1.50, suitable for one or two loads.
  • Dedicated Staff (Sometimes): One reviewer specifically praised an attendant for their diligence in cleaning and maintaining the facility, describing the individual as "impressive" for cleaning, sweeping, and hustling throughout their visit.

Areas for Improvement & User Concerns ⚠️

While some aspects are positive, several recurring issues have been noted by patrons:

  1. Machine Malfunctions & Pricing:
    • Inconsistent Dryer Times: A user reported receiving 5 minutes less drying time on one dryer compared to an adjacent one, despite putting in the exact same amount of money simultaneously.
    • Vending Machine Issues: There are multiple reports of the laundry supplies vending machine "eating money" without dispensing products.
    • App Reliability: One severe complaint detailed issues with their recommended app, where a washer allegedly "stole money" without running, necessitating a call to an 800 number for a refund.
    • Damaged Clothing & Lack of Resolution: A particularly concerning incident involved a nail wedged in a dryer drum, leading to over $170 in damaged clothes. Despite multiple attempts to contact on-duty managers and the store manager ("Craig"), the user reported receiving no compensation or follow-up call, leading to extreme dissatisfaction.
    • High Costs: Prices are frequently described as "outrageous," with washers reportedly costing $7.00 per load and dryers costing $8.00 per load.
    • Broken Machines: While some broken washers or dryers are reportedly clearly marked, their presence can still be an inconvenience.
  2. Cleanliness & Staff Professionalism:
    • Inconsistent Cleanliness: One review explicitly mentioned dirty floors, contrasting with another's positive experience with a cleaning attendant, suggesting variability in cleanliness standards.
    • Unhelpful Attendants: A user reported a negative interaction with an attendant who was preoccupied with her phone, unhelpful with a bill changer, and showed annoyance when further assistance was needed. This experience was unfavorably compared to a Bellevue location (presumably another Anytime Laundry) known for its clean environment and attentive staff.

Overall Recommendation

Anytime Laundry offers large machines and the convenience of on-site laundry supplies for those in Council Bluffs. However, potential users should be aware of the high pricing and the significant risk of machine malfunctions, including issues with money being taken and even clothes being damaged without clear paths to resolution. The responsiveness and professionalism of staff and management appear inconsistent, which can lead to frustrating experiences when issues arise. For a more reliable and customer-service oriented experience, some users suggest exploring alternative laundromats in the area.

Probably a 4.5 but I didn’t want to lower their score by giving them a 4. There were a couple of broken washers or dryers but they were clearly marked. They had a vending machine that sold Tide, bleach, softener and even laundry bags. The laundry bags are $8 though, which is steep for a bag. The detergent is $1.50 and serves about one or two loads. The machines are large and the dryers are larger. Doing laundry here is quick and easy. I’ll be back if I need to wash blankets, bedsheets or anything that needs a large machine. Also, special shoutout to the lady working. She spent the entire hour and a half I was there cleaning, sweeping, and hustling. She was impressive, which is why I’m giving this place a 5 instead of a 4.

Facility had dirty floors, the attendant played with her phone the entire time I was there behind the counter and made no effort to be helpful when I was requesting a bill changer. Pointed in the direction barely looking up from her phone, then when I needed assistance with the bill changer she was annoyed and snottily said "your welcome". I am used to the one in Bellevue which is really clean and nice with attendants that go above and beyond. This dirty/rude location was North 90th. Being as they have the same owners at all locations I was very surprised by the glaring difference.

Horrible, Horrible Laundromat!!! We would NEVER go here again, and would NEVER recommend it to anyone we knew!!! We, unfortunately, had to go here when our washer at home broke for a week. First, the prices are OUTRAGEOUS. We tried using the App they recommended, but the first washer we tried stole our money and wouldn't run. We had to call an 800 number to get our money back.Once we finally found a working washer, they want $7.00 per load. The real problem happened when we tried to use one of the dryers that were $8.00 a load. Once we took our clothes out of the dryer, we found a nail had wedged itself into the dryer drum and had damaged some of our clothes. We alerted the on-duty manager, and she said she would alert the store manger to call us. We waited several days with no call. I went back to the store and spoke with another on-duty manager and got the same response. She said that "Craig" was the manager and he would call us soon. Fast forward another week, and no contact with "Craig". I went back a second time and was told the same rehearsed lie again. It has been two weeks and "Craig" has yet to contact us. We had over $170.00 in damaged clothes that we feel we will never be compensated for. Please save yourself the trouble and go to the laundromat across the street. Maybe they won't destroy your clothes and then refuse to even have the professional courtesy to call you back!!!
