Kings Palace Casino

Kings Palace Casino in Lake Charles, Louisiana, offers a varied experience according to recent visitors. Unlike the expansive resorts often associated with the term "casino," this establishment appears to be a smaller, more focused gambling spot. Feedback ranges from highly positive accounts of winning streaks to stark criticisms regarding its appearance and amenities, creating a truly mixed impression for potential patrons.

πŸ‘ The Upsides: Potential Wins and Convenient Location

For some, Kings Palace Casino has proven to be a surprisingly rewarding destination. One highly satisfied visitor described gambling as a "Sport and Entertaining" activity, joyfully reporting that a significant portion of their earningsβ€”"95% of my Earnings was a Plus Added"β€”resulted from their time there. This suggests that for those focused purely on the gaming aspect, particularly video poker, the machines can indeed be "kind." Another patron appreciated the casino as a "cool little spot," highlighting its accessible location for travelers.

πŸ‘Ž The Downsides: Expectation vs. Reality

Conversely, many visitors have expressed significant disappointment, particularly concerning the casino's physical state and scale. It has been described as a "run down old video poker room" with "old games." Some reviews indicate a feeling of being misled if expecting a larger, more traditional casino, with one user stating it's "NOT A TRUCK STOP" despite its proximity to one. Terms like "super divey,""one room," and even looking like an "illegal, backwoods place" (though noting it's not) appear frequently. Additionally, there's mention of a "non working restaurant next to gas station," suggesting a lack of amenities beyond the gaming machines. The overall atmosphere has also been noted as "not too lively."

πŸ—ΊοΈ Location & Ambiance

Locating Kings Palace Casino is relatively straightforward for those traveling on I-10 East. According to a helpful reviewer, it's situated about five miles before the Lacassine exit when heading east from Lake Charles/Iowa. Specifically, it's on the east-bound side of the interstate, reachable by using a maps application that directs you over an overpass, placing it on your left immediately after a Burger King, within what appears to be the back-left side of a truck stop parking lot. The consistent description points to a single-room setup, indicating a focus on video poker machines rather than a broad range of casino games or entertainment options.

Final Thoughts

Kings Palace Casino appears to cater to a very specific type of gambler: one who seeks a straightforward video poker experience without the frills of a larger resort. While some have experienced considerable luck and enjoyed its quiet, unassuming nature, others have been put off by its perceived age, size, and lack of additional facilities. If you're driving through Lake Charles on I-10 East and are looking for a quick stop to try your luck at video poker, and you manage your expectations regarding the venue's scale and modernity, it might be worth a visit. However, if you anticipate a vibrant casino atmosphere, diverse gaming options, or extensive amenities, you may find Kings Palace Casino falls short of those expectations.

Run down old video poker room in non working restaurant next to gas station. NOT A TRUCK STOP, however we did boondock in the back parking lot since I directed us to a "casino" but this is what we got instead. Bummer. Not worth the visit

Looks like an illegal, backwoods place. Not saying it is, just super divey, one room, old games

Cool little spot on the side of the interstate heading to the east outta Lake Charles/Iowa about 5 miles before the laccasinne exit but on I -10 east bound Side of the interstate heading east just use the maps app you apparently already have, and then let it take you over the overpass and then it's on your left , immediately after Burger King in the truck stop parking lot on the back left side of the station
