Excalibur Hotel & Casino

The Excalibur Hotel & Casino, a distinctive medieval-themed resort on the bustling Las Vegas Strip, frequently surprises guests with its blend of affordability, convenience, and solid amenities. While it's recognized as one of the older properties, visitors consistently highlight its surprising cleanliness and well-maintained atmosphere, making it a strong contender for those seeking a quintessential Vegas experience without an extravagant price tag.

Room Comfort & Cleanliness ✨

Despite its age, Excalibur consistently receives praise for its guest rooms. Many reviews mention the rooms are spacious, featuring comfortable beds that ensure a good night's sleep. Guests have found the rooms to be remarkably clean and well-maintained, with daily cleaning services contributing to a pleasant stay. The bathrooms are often described as spacious, with some even boasting large walk-in showers that add a touch of modern comfort.

  1. While generally well-equipped, some standard rooms may not include a mini-fridge by default, though these can often be requested.
  2. For those who prefer a bath, it's worth noting that some cheaper rooms may not have a bathtub, offering a shower-only setup.
  3. Guests also appreciate the quietness of the rooms, allowing for undisturbed rest away from the Strip's energy.

Dining Options: Know Before You Go 🍔🍕

Excalibur offers convenient dining options, primarily focused on quick and casual bites. The on-site food court is a big plus for guests looking for a speedy meal. However, for those seeking upscale or diverse gourmet dining, options directly within Excalibur are somewhat limited and can be pricey. Savvy travelers often recommend exploring the culinary landscape of the adjacent New York-New York Hotel, which is easily accessible and offers a fantastic array of choices, including a deli, pizzeria, Mexican cuisine, a steakhouse, and American breakfast spots. For budget-conscious breakfasts, a McDonald's is about a 15-minute walk away.

Prime Location & Accessibility 📍

One of Excalibur's strongest assets is its unbeatable location directly on the Las Vegas Strip. This prime spot allows for easy walking access to numerous other major hotels and attractions. It's particularly convenient for attendees of events at the nearby arena, offering a hassle-free stroll. The hotel's position also makes it a great base for exploring the southern end of the Strip on foot.

Amenities & Entertainment 🎲🏊‍♀️

As a primary casino hotel, Excalibur features a bustling gaming floor. Guests have reported positive experiences, with some enjoying success on the slot machines. The pool area is another highlight, often described as great, featuring both a main pool and two hot tubs. While the main pool water can sometimes be a bit cool, the jacuzzis provide a warm alternative. Towels are provided at the pool, though chairs might require a rental fee.

  1. Parking can be a mixed bag. While generally accessible, self-parking might involve a significantly long walk to your room, which is a common Vegas characteristic for larger resorts. Valet parking, if affordable, can mitigate this.
  2. Visitors consistently mention the friendly and welcoming staff, which contributes significantly to a positive overall experience.

Service & Value for Money 🤝💸

Excalibur consistently delivers on its promise of great value. Guests who book through packages or find good deals often find the quality of their stay far exceeds the bargain price. It offers a solid Vegas experience, combining comfort and convenience without demanding a premium. For those who appreciate a unique, medieval-themed vibe and don't require the ultra-modern luxury of newer, pricier resorts, Excalibur provides an authentic "old Vegas feel" that many find charming. However, guests should be mindful of time-share pitches often encountered in the lobby area.

Overall, Excalibur is highly recommended for travelers looking for a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located hotel on the Strip that offers excellent value for money. It's an ideal choice for those who plan to spend most of their time exploring Las Vegas and desire a reliable, budget-friendly home base.

Definitely old. If you are looking for Posh this isn't for you compared to other Vegas hotels. But for the price it was definitely posh enough. The deco is outdated but the rooms are clean and we felt safe. I actually enjoyed the old Vegas feel to the place. Parking sucks if you can't afford Valet. Be prepared to walk 5 miles to your room. But the quality you get for the price more than makes up for this. Friendly staff just avoid anyone offering comps and promotions it's a time/share pitch. Great experience overall.

Honestly for a cheaper hotel our stay was great! I had booked through Expedia on a package for a long weekend and our rooms were clean, bed was comfy, room was cleaned everyday and the bathroom was very spacious. Having been to Vegas several times and knowing we’re only in the room to sleep we didn’t spend a lot of time in the room. Couldn’t hear anyone in our room and slept great each night.Clean towels, cold AC and our keycards always worked. There’s no mini fridge you have to request it but we had plenty of ice from the machines. I also bought a portable kettle so we could have coffee on our room every morning and instant noodle cups for those drunk nights before bed.Pool wasn’t too crowded and there are two hot tubs. Pool water felt heated and warm. Towels are included but you have to rent the chairs. Shops and food are expensive in the hotels but there’s a McDonald’s down the road (15 min walk) where there was never a wait in the mornings for food. Recommend going there for breakfast vs $15 Jonny rockets.Honestly having stayed here twice now, Bellagio once and Sahara id stay here again or try Harrahs.

Although is an old hotel, the maintenance is still good, clean and has new painting on the building. The Casino is a big one, you may get lost for the first time come to here especially when you get off in carpark and go to check-in, anyway, the direction signal is clear enough for all guests. A friendly tips for the one come to Las Vegas, Saturday & Sunday’s room price is extremely expensive. Weekday is at the good price. Excalibur’s Resort fee is US50+tax, Carpark fee is US20/ day. 1 night room fee on Monday in April 2025 is around US20+tax. Hotel Deposit is US75/night-put as pending on credit card. Recommend you to use MGM apps to check-in to save for waiting check-in time and here can use apps’ digital key to open the room (as no need physical key-so no need return key to hotel). Hope all this information is good for you. The strip is a long street, first time come to stay in Excalibur is good to have a look for Luxor & New York New York Hotel and enjoy Shack stack in NYNY (definitely is a good choice). For see free enjoyment for Bellligiao botanical garden & water dancing show then you better to stay the hotel at there. Because the walking distance is quite far away, you may take 40 minutes from Excalibur to Bellagiao Hotel (Apr weather is still fine to have a walk but if Summer time start from May, you may prefer stay in hotel at day time). Bus will costs you US6 for 2 hours in Strip.

Enjoyed the stay. Hotel room was super clean and comfortable and the ac worked great! Beds and pillows are amazing. The large shower and shower head were great. Pool area is nice, gaming floor, food court, all really good. Great location on the south end. Will stay here again, highly recommended!

The hotel is very well located — we were visiting for a Google conference. We had originally booked a room with one bed and a courtyard view, but were given a room with two beds and a view of the highway.Since we arrived a couple of hours earlier than the official check-in time after a long overnight flight, we were happy and grateful to accept the room offered. The hotel provides a convenient luggage storage service before check-in, which was very helpful. The rooms are clean and have everything you might need for a comfortable stay. One small downside is that there’s no complimentary drinking water in the rooms — you’ll need to purchase it separately. The hotel also offers a variety of entertainment programs for both children and adults, which adds to the overall positive experience.
