The Flamingo Las Vegas, a historic icon as the first casino ever built on the Strip, offers a truly central location for visitors looking to immerse themselves in the heart of Las Vegas. While its prime spot and unique attractions draw many, recent guest experiences present a mixed bag, highlighting both significant strengths and notable drawbacks.
One of the most consistently praised aspects of the Flamingo is its unbeatable location. Situated right in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip, guests find it incredibly convenient for exploring. Reviewers frequently mention its proximity to other attractions, making "everything within walking distance." The added benefit of having a monorail stop directly at the back of the hotel further enhances its accessibility, providing an easy and convenient way to navigate the longer distances of the Strip. For those utilizing ride-sharing services, the hotel also offers an "easy pickup" point.
Experiences with the rooms vary, but positive feedback often highlights newly updated spaces. Guests have described rooms as "clean and newly updated," "spacious," and featuring modern amenities like "automatic blinds/curtains" and good air conditioning. Many appreciate the "great view from room." However, some crucial issues regarding room allocation have been reported, such as pre-booked king-sized beds not being available upon arrival, leading to disappointment, especially for special occasions.
As a primary casino destination, the Flamingo's casino floor receives positive mentions for being "very nice" and "clean." Beyond gaming, the property boasts "a lot of shopping/food options to choose from."
The Flamingo truly stands out for its distinctive features:
This is where the Flamingo appears to fall short for a significant number of guests. Several reviews detail frustrating experiences:
While the pools are a highlight, their accessibility and management have been a source of frustration:
A specific operational issue mentioned is the elevator system, which some found to be "such a pain" and "in need of repair/upgrade."
The Flamingo Las Vegas offers a vibrant, centrally located experience with classic Vegas charm, a decent casino, updated rooms for some, and unique attractions like the Flamingo habitat and its "oasis" pool area. However, potential guests should be aware of inconsistencies in service, particularly regarding housekeeping and support for third-party bookings. Issues with pool availability and dated elevator systems also detract from the overall experience for some. While its fantastic location and historical significance are undeniable draws, the quality of stay can be unpredictable, making it a "you get what you pay for" scenario for some.
Room was well used. The sink spout in the bathroom was broken, the linens were a little thread bear, they only gave us 2 towels for 3 people. Some of the wall paper was coming off the wall as well. It was also very expensive. Parking is $20 a day. The "family pool" was barely a pool. They didn't allow you to bring water in. When we went to go buy some from their little shop, it was $8 for a cheap bottle of water, and a pop was $9.50 for a can of coke. They show on their website these huge pools, but only 21 and over in those ones. Also there was so many people smoking weed there. I know it is legal, but holly crap, it's all we smelled.Location is really it's only plus and the gal doing maid service was very nice. We booked it because it was walking distance to Battle Bots. Best show for the money! Very kid friendly.
I actually loved my stay at the Flamingo and would have given 5 stars, but the elevators were such a pain. The elevator system is in need of repair/upgrade. The room was great, clean and spacious. I liked the location of the on the Strip and that there is a monorail station. Everything was within walking distance.
Great room, exactly as described on their website. The room was clean and newly updated. Great view from room, ac worked good, loved the automatic blinds / curtains. great location right in the middle of the strip and has a monorail stop in the back of the hotel which is very convenient. Their casino is very nice and they have a lot of shopping/ food options to choose from. Their flamingo habitat is awesome and something to definitely check out. Would definitely stay here again.
The location is pretty central but you get what you pay for. And god forbid you book through a 3rd party. We checked in on Sunday, paid for early check in, opted for the “upgrade” they offered which was an additional charge (no problem) and opted in for daily housekeeping. Tuesday night our room still hadn’t been cleaned. We asked the maid in the hallway for at least clean towels got nothing but attitude and told request housekeeping. We did. 5 hours later with a “rush” on it it still wasn’t done. We went back down and they refused to do anything further because we booked through a 3rd party… we have never experienced service this poorly at any of the MGM properties even the manager agreed that their service sucked and that MGM properties were a better choice. Will never stay at another Caesar’s property again. Very disappointed that we couldn’t even get clean towels. Also you couldn’t even get a chair at the pool unless you showed up at 9:00am. Which we were not notified that one of their pools were closed…. Convenience of location does not outweigh how horrible this stay has been.
Please read review. The hotel response below is from their digital reputation management team and is consistent with our experience of their inability to provide a trustworthy service. The hotel have my contact details and have made no efforts to get in touch. We booked this place for our 25th wedding anniversary as we wanted to return to Vegas, where we got married. We booked months in advance for two rooms, one with a king sized double bed for ourselves and another twin for my grown up son and daughter (24 and 20 yrs old).We chose the Flamingo specifically because of its complex of pools. As my daughter is not old enough to join us in the casino or bars so we decided to spend more time by the pool. When we arrived we were told without apology or explanation that there were no rooms with a king sized bed available and irrespective of it being our anniversary, the hotel gave us a room with twin beds while my children’s room was nowhere near ours.My daughter then discovered online that the pools were under construction (see pics) and only the family pool was available for all hotel guests. Had we been informed this would be the case we wouldn’t have booked this hotel and despite making a complaint they took no action.I don’t mind that the hotel took no account of our anniversary but I do mind that hotel didn’t inform us of its construction works or that they couldn’t honour our booking for a king size bed so we could make alternative plans. They obviously knew this was the case before we arrived and chose not to inform us, thereby deliberately attempting to ruin a special occasion.
