Park MGM Las Vegas, located in the heart of the iconic Las Vegas Strip, offers a unique and increasingly sought-after experience: a completely smoke-free environment. This beautifully renovated property, formerly the Monte Carlo, has established itself as a refreshing alternative for visitors looking for a clean air experience.
Key Highlights & Positives ✨
- Smoke-Free Environment: 🚭 This is by far the most celebrated aspect of Park MGM. From the fresh air in the lobby to the casino floor, guests consistently praise the absence of smoke, setting a relaxing and clean tone throughout the property.
- Renovated Aesthetics: The hotel boasts a refreshed look, particularly in the lobby and outdoor spaces. Standard rooms are often complimented for their comfortable beds, spotless bathrooms, excellent water pressure, and stylish rustic-steel-leather touches with bold colors.
- Lively Casino Floor: 🎲 The casino is described as lively with a good selection of tables, and cocktail servers are noted for making regular rounds. The smoke-free atmosphere extends here, making for a more pleasant gaming experience.
- Excellent Location & Accessibility: Park MGM’s position on the Strip is convenient for exploring. Guests appreciate the on-site Eataly for dining options and the well-organized pick-up and drop-off areas.
- Generally Excellent Staff: Many reviewers highlight the staff as excellent, attentive, and willing to work to resolve issues when they arise.
- Good Value: For many, Park MGM provides a great value, especially considering its prime location and unique smoke-free offering.
Points for Consideration & Areas for Improvement ⚠️
- Room Specifics:
- Suite Layouts & Noise: Some suites, like the Nightingale, have been noted for odd layouts and significant noise transfer from connecting rooms, where "every single word" can be heard throughout the entire suite.
- AC Performance: A few guests have mentioned that the air conditioning in rooms might not get as cool as desired, even when set to low temperatures.
- Mini-Fridge Availability: Standard rooms reportedly lack mini-fridges or minibars, with these amenities only available in suites, which can be a disappointment for some.
- Check-in Experience: A significant concern for at least one traveler was an extremely delayed check-in, waiting until 1:30 AM the day after the official 3 PM check-in time. Such incidents suggest potential for overcrowding or operational issues during peak times.
- Casino Game Selection: For roulette enthusiasts, it's worth noting that the casino primarily offers triple 0 roulette, which has less favorable odds compared to single or double 0 versions.
- "Strip View" Accuracy: An upgraded "strip view" room might offer a more limited view, sometimes described as a "top of the casino view" rather than a sweeping panoramic Strip vista.
- Isolated Staff Incidents: While most staff interactions are positive, there was an unfortunate and alarming report of a hostile encounter with a janitor, indicating a need for consistent guest service standards across all departments.
Overall Verdict
Park MGM stands out as a strong contender on the Las Vegas Strip, primarily due to its commitment to being a completely smoke-free property. This unique selling point, combined with its modern renovations, comfortable standard rooms, and excellent location, makes it a top pick for many visitors. While some guests have experienced issues with specific room types, AC performance, or check-in delays, the general consensus points towards a positive and refreshing stay. For those prioritizing a clean, fresh-air environment in Las Vegas, Park MGM is highly recommended.
The non-smoking property is fantastic. I gave the room three stars because we were booked in the Nightingale suite, and while it was spacious, it has an odd layout, and also a connecting room where you can hear every single word being spoken. And that’s throughout the entire room not just when you’re next to the door. It was super annoying. Perhaps a regular room that doesn’t have a connection would be better. Eataly is great, walk capability from the property is nice. The area where you get picked up and dropped off is convenient. Staff is excellent too. Casino floor is nice, especially being smoke free.
I recently stayed at Park MGM and had a great experience! This beautifully renovated hotel (formerly the Monte Carlo before MGM’s took over in 2018/19) offers something truly rare on the Strip—a completely smoke-free environment. From the moment you walk in, the fresh air and clean scent set a relaxing tone.I stayed in a room with one king bed and absolutely loved the rustic-steel-leather touches, and bold colors. The bed and pillows were incredibly soft and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent.A couple of minor downsides: the AC never got quite as cool as I’d like, even when set to 66°F, though I could still feel the air coming through. Also, there’s no mini fridge or minibar in standard rooms—those are only available in suites, which was a bit of a letdown.Still, Park MGM ranks among my top picks for Vegas hotels. I’d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, smoke-free stay right on the Strip.
One of the worst hotel experiences of my life at a hotel. Check in was supposed to be 3pm. Did not get a room until 130am the next day. I was not the only one there waiting for a room. I was told they could do nothing. Tried to get luggage from the bellhop, only to be threatened by a janitor and told its not his problem and a middle finger, I wish there was actual context to that but there wasn’t. Felt pretty unsafe. This place has absolutely lost its mind. DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT book this hotel.
I upgraded to a strip view which should really be called the top of the casino view, but otherwise my room was large well equipped and clean. The casino was lively with a good selection of tables, servers made rounds regularly. They seem to only offer triple 0 roulette so maybe go somewhere else if that's your game of choice.
Decent hotel in a good location! I loved the theme and decor of the lobby and outdoor spaces. The rooms aren’t quite my style, but they are comfortable. We did have a service request that took several hours, but the hotel staff worked to make it right. Great value!
