Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino stands as a prominent fixture on the Las Vegas Strip, often touted for its unbeatable central location. While it offers a vibrant atmosphere and a wealth of amenities, visitor experiences can vary, particularly concerning room comfort and service.
Location, Location, Location! ✨
The resort's most consistently praised attribute is its exceptional location. Situated directly in the heart of the Strip, guests find themselves:
- Across the street from the iconic Bellagio Hotel, offering easy access to its famous fountains.
- Within walking distance to numerous attractions and restaurants.
- Benefiting from a reliable bus stop right in front of the hotel for convenient transportation along the Strip.
This central positioning makes exploring Las Vegas incredibly easy, whether you're looking for entertainment, dining, or shopping.
Casino & Resort Offerings 🎰🛍️
As a primary casino, Planet Hollywood generally delivers a positive gambling experience. The casino floor is often described as clean and not overly crowded or smoky, providing a comfortable environment for both seasoned gamblers and casual visitors. Beyond the casino, the resort boasts:
- A good selection of restaurants, including a notable sandwich shop offering hot subs even in the early hours of the morning (a blessing for those battling jet lag!).
- Excellent shopping opportunities directly within or very close to the resort.
- A lively pool area with a "party vibe," although be prepared for "wicked expensive" pool drinks.
There's certainly "lots to do within the hotel itself," ensuring guests have plenty of entertainment options without needing to leave the property.
Accommodations: A Tale of Two Stays 🛏️
Room experiences at Planet Hollywood appear to be the most varied, often depending on the room type booked and the specific unit. While some guests praise their rooms for being clean, comfortable, and offering amazing views (especially from higher floors like the 37th), others report significant issues:
- Standard rooms can feature "very hard and very outdated" beds, leading to discomfort and backaches.
- Issues with room maintenance have been noted, including running toilets, overflowing water, constantly running sink faucets, and slippery, uncleaned tubs.
- Some rooms have experienced difficulties with temperature control, remaining "super hot" even in cooler weather.
Conversely, those who opt for a 2-bedroom panoramic suite describe an "absolutely perfect" experience, highlighting the suite's generous size, privacy, "amazing views," and amenities like a small fridge and coffee maker. It seems booking a suite might mitigate some of the comfort issues found in standard rooms.
Service & Value: A Mixed Bag 🤝💸
Service quality is another area where opinions diverge. Some visitors found the staff to be "very helpful and friendly" and service "good," even during special events. However, a strong counter-narrative points to an "incredibly rude" staff overall, with one reviewer specifically citing a lack of smiles or helpfulness, aside from a standout experience with "Steve at the VIP check-in." Attempts to resolve room issues, such as getting a room change, were met with unresponsiveness or unavailability.
In terms of value, Planet Hollywood is often seen as an "affordable option" on the Strip, particularly when compared to more luxurious resorts like the Venetian or Bellagio. While food prices are "a bit pricey," this is acknowledged as typical for Las Vegas. The resort is recommended for those "not looking for fancy or luxurious" but who prioritize a prime location and a vibrant atmosphere.
Final Thoughts ✨
Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino is an energetic choice for visitors seeking a central Strip experience without the top-tier luxury price tag. Its unparalleled location, bustling casino, and diverse entertainment options are definite draws. However, potential guests should consider the mixed feedback on room quality and staff service, and perhaps consider upgrading to a suite for a more comfortable stay. Despite its shortcomings, many guests express a desire to "definitely stay here again."
Save your money and avoid the low-class experience of staying at Planet Hollywood. This place is a total disappointment from start to finish.1. First and foremost, there’s no seating in the lobby. Not even a single chair. If you’re traveling with someone who doesn’t gamble, they’re stuck in the room with nothing to do. Super inconvenient and inconsiderate.2. At the pool, you have to pay for shade. Yes, even for an umbrella. It’s outrageous and greedy.3. There’s no water available anywhere in the hotel unless you’re actively gambling — then maybe you can get a glass. No water fountains, no dispensers, nothing.4. The staff are rude and completely uninterested in helping. Zero customer service. It feels like you’re bothering them just by asking a simple question.5. The rooms are bare bones. You get towels and that’s it. No slippers, no toothpaste, nothing. For the price they’re charging, it’s a joke.6. Speaking of price — it’s ridiculously high. A shaded lounge spot at their ugly, overcrowded pool? $800. What planet are they on?Planet Hollywood is all hype and no hospitality. Look elsewhere — this place isn’t worth a fraction of what they charge.
Not trying to be negative here but feel you should know if you’re spending lots of money. The beds are very hard and very outdated! Woke up with a bad stiff backache each and every day that wouldn’t even shake into the evening. So it was constant backache my whole vacation. The Toilet water ran and over flowed at the slightest and the sink faucet water ran the whole time and tub was so slick hasn’t been cleaned and oh to mention it’s super hot in the room. Could not get it cool and the weather was hoodie n jacket weather very nice!! Had to pay to get 2 hard water massages 2 days in a row and still didn’t help much. Sitting here at the airport and can barely get up to go to the restroom. Called and tried to get room changed and no one answered. I went down to desk service and they said there’s no rooms available. This is a good casino great location I loved everything except the room. Maybe get a suite if u stay here maybe the beds are better. Honest review.
On our first trip to Vegas this month we booked a premium fountain view room and it didn’t disappoint! The room was clean and spacious. Planet Hollywood was perfect for us due to the access to the miracle mile shops and all the reasonably priced restaurants that it offers. The casino and hallways were clean. This hotel is a perfect location in the center of the strip.
Planet Hollywood is absolutely perfect. We stayed in the 2 bedroom panoramic suite on the 35th floor. Definitely not fancy but an excellent suite with amazing views that just can't be beat. The suite is huge with 2 separate bedrooms that are spaced out far apart for nice privacy. Little fridge for drinks, coffee maker, nice leather couches and good sized TVs. This location just can't be beat. Excellent food options all around. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are not looking for fancy or luxurious. I just want to add that the pool is great too. Good party vibe!!!! Pool drinks are wicked expensive!!!! Great views and easy to get all around this resort. All the staff were great. I would absolutely recommend to stay here.
I don't regret booking this hotel even though it wasn't my first choice. It was in the center of the strip and across the street from the Bellagio Hotel, which was fantastic!Walking distance to attractions and restaurants. Bus stop in front of hotel and the bus was very reliable.Food is a bit pricey, but it is Las Vegas! The room and view were amazing (standard king mountain view on the 37th floor). There is lots to do within the hotel itself: pool, casino, shops, etc, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.Just don't plan to arrive early if you don't want to pay for early check-in, which is before 3. However, they will keep your bags for you while you explore a little. All in all, we had fun and will definitely stay here again when we visit next time!
