Boomtown Casino & Hotel New Orleans

Located in the vibrant city of New Orleans, United States, Boomtown Casino & Hotel serves as a dual-purpose establishment, offering both gaming excitement and comfortable accommodations. Based on recent guest feedback, here’s an in-depth look at what visitors can expect from their stay and gaming experience.

The Hotel Experience: Comfort and Cleanliness Shine ✨

The hotel component of Boomtown Casino & Hotel generally garners high praise, particularly for its guest rooms and the attentiveness of its staff. Guests frequently highlight the following positive aspects:

  1. Immaculate Rooms: Visitors consistently report that the rooms are "always clean," with specific mentions of "perfect corners and snow white bedding" and "comfy beds" that ensure a restful night's sleep. Suites, such as the Live Oak suite, are described as "incredibly clean" with "gigantic" bathrooms, featuring spacious walk-in showers and separate bathtubs.
  2. Exceptional Staff: From the front desk to the hotel hostesses, the staff receives widespread commendation for being "always friendly and welcoming." Many guests appreciate their accommodating nature, noting that they "go above and beyond" to meet requests and are consistently ready with a smile.
  3. Strategic Location for Cruisers: For travelers heading to or from cruises departing from the Port of New Orleans, the hotel offers a convenient option. Situated approximately 15-20 minutes away from the port, it allows guests to "avoid all the traffic and chaos" typically encountered when staying closer to the docks. Its direct access off the highway also facilitates easy movement into and out of the city, even during busy periods like Super Bowl week.
  4. Spotless Lobby: The main lobby area is consistently maintained to a high standard, frequently described by guests as "spotless."

Areas for Improvement: Service and Dining Concerns ⚠️

While many aspects of Boomtown receive positive feedback, several significant issues have been raised by guests, primarily concerning housekeeping consistency and specific dining experiences:

  1. Inconsistent Housekeeping: A notable concern highlighted by one guest was the lack of room cleaning services. Despite a three-day stay and direct requests, their room was "NOT cleaned even ONCE," leading to significant frustration and a perception of staff indifference.
  2. Dining at Nola Steak: The on-site restaurant, Nola Steak, received a particularly negative review. Service was described as "horrible," with reports of staff prioritizing personally known customers or regulars, resulting in long waits for orders and basic items like napkins. The food quality also fell short, with potatoes described as "nasty" and crab meat as "very salty," leading a reviewer to state the establishment "should not be considered a steakhouse" given the standard.
  3. Casino Cleanliness: While the hotel rooms were praised for their cleanliness, one review noted that the casino floor was "not as clean as the hotel." However, it was also acknowledged that this might be understandable due to the high volume of foot traffic and crowds.
  4. Pricing During Peak Events: One guest expressed feeling "ripped off" after paying $650 per night for a single room during the Super Bowl, indicating that prices can become excessively high during major city events.

Overall Impression: A Solid Stay with Room for Improvement ⚖️

Boomtown Casino & Hotel New Orleans presents itself as a generally strong option for travelers, especially those prioritizing clean and comfortable hotel rooms and friendly, accommodating staff, particularly for pre-cruise stays. The location, despite being in an industrial area, is often appreciated for its convenience and accessibility. However, prospective visitors should be mindful of potential inconsistencies in housekeeping services and might consider exploring dining options outside of Nola Steak based on recent, critical feedback. The casino experience appears to be standard, with occasional notes on cleanliness during peak hours. Ultimately, Boomtown offers a pleasant stay for many, but could significantly enhance its overall guest satisfaction by addressing the identified service and quality issues within its housekeeping and dining departments.

The staff is always friendly and welcoming whether you're a first time guest or a repeat customer. They go above and beyond at the front desk to meet your request and desires. The rooms are always clean, the beds you can bounce a quarter, perfect corners and snow white bedding. The hostess are accommodating and their director Christiana is always ready with a smile. I'm looking forward to my next visit when I return home. Black and Gold nation !Thank youPearlie

Another excellent hotel stay. We have stayed here 3 times, and this my family's go to hotel to stay at before when we cruise. We like this hotel because it is about 15-20 minutes away from the Port of New Orleans and we are able to avoid all the traffic and chaos that you can encounter staying right by the port. Its in an industrial area, but we dont mind it. We booked 3 rooms and every room was clean. The shower was hot, and beds were so comfy. My husband and I slept like babies.

Beware!! This place is HORRIBLE! We stayed here for the Super Bowl and these people DO NOT CARE! They lie and grab the money, we have been here for 3 days and they have NOT cleaned the room even ONCE. We asked for them to clean it. They said they would and did not! The staff are rude. I asked for towels and they wanted me to go down 3 floors and get it out Neil I asked for a manager. He apologize and said he would speak to the front desk person and train her better. I am paying $650 a night for a single room with 2 beds! I am getting ripped off. If it wasn’t for the Super Bowl, I would NEVER stay in this HORRIBLE Hotel! Beware!!!!

We dined at Nola Steak on March 7th around 8pm. The service was horrible! The guy with the braids never checked on us. All he did was cater to customers he personally knew, or are regulars. I saw him get other customers what they asked for in the moment, but we had to wait a while for our beer, salt/pepper, napkins and our check! We did not feel welcomed at all. As for the food, the potatoes were nasty and the crab meat was very salty. This place should not be considered a steakhouse if the customer service and food does not meet the standard! I will not be back. As far as the hotel rooms, they were clean, the staff was very nice, and lobby area was spotless! The casino was not as clean as the hotel, but it was crowded, so that's understandable.

We stayed in the Live Oak suite for the last week for the Super Bowl. It was incredibly clean. The bed was comfortable. The carpets were clean. The bathroom was gigantic with a huge walk in shower and seperate bath tub area. The location is right off of the highway so it was easy to get into and out of the city even during Super Bowl week. The staff was always welcoming and friendly. 5 stars!
