Caesars Hotel New Orleans, a prominent casino-hotel situated in the vibrant heart of New Orleans, offers an appealing blend of entertainment and convenience. While guests consistently praise its prime location and the exciting, smoke-free casino environment, the hotel aspect, particularly regarding service and certain amenities, frequently falls short of expectations, leading to a polarizing experience for many visitors.
Despite its strengths, Caesars Hotel New Orleans faces significant criticism, primarily centered around its hotel services and practical inconveniences:
Caesars Hotel New Orleans shines as a premier casino destination with an enviable location and a highly enjoyable gaming floor. Its well-appointed rooms offer comfort and, in some cases, impressive views. However, prospective guests should be aware of the recurring issues concerning hotel service (especially housekeeping) and the significant inconveniences associated with self-parking. While the central location and casino appeal might make it a strong contender for those primarily focused on gaming and city exploration, the overall value for the price paid can be questionable if consistent hotel service is a high priority. Improvements in these operational areas would undoubtedly elevate the guest experience significantly.
We went to the casino for just a little while before a concert at the Fillmore. We hadn't been there since it changed from Harrah's. It's relatively the same layout but it is newly decorated with the Caesars theme. There are also electronic gaming tables and traditional tables. I really like being able to order drinks from the slot machine and not having to find a server. The drinks came fast. We had fun the short time we were there and I really enjoyed it being a smoke free environment.
Maybe I should be giving it a 1?Positives first- location was central to a lot of things and it was easy to pick up a bike taxi on the next corner over. We walked to a lot of great meals as well. The room we got was a corner room, high up and full of windows which was nice. The bathroom was nice as well with a large soaking tub.Negatives- There is no pool in case you wanted that. There is also very very poor service. I had two incidents in 2 days which kind of upset me. First one, I ordered room service for dessert at 10pm. I got the text that said it would be 30 mins. I waited for an hour… they didn’t show. I text them and looked it up and Google said they closed at 11. I waited for a little bit and didn’t hear back. That told me to forget dessert, I clearly didn’t need it anyways. These people called my room at 12:45 in the morning saying they had my dessert. Thank goodness it didn’t wake up my kids, just my husband and I. Very irritating! Then, house keeping. They are non existent. I put the light on by the door 3 days in a row and no one came at all. On day 3 I called down and requested house keeping and left the light on, still nothing. When we got back that evening, I tried to call 5 separate times but no one would pick up so my husband went down to complain. They did take off some fees which would have had me drop it BUT then…. A house keeping lady knocked on our door, rang the door bell, knocked on the door, rang the door bell and continued this pattern 4 times within 15 seconds. What in the world!! We look out and see it her so we open, both alarmed. And all she has to say is, “You good?” We just looked at her and said, “yeah, we good” because I have self control but damn, this lady hates her job and sucks at it.We won’t be staying here in the future.
Overall a Good Stay, but a Few Issues to NoteI recently stayed here and overall enjoyed my time, but there were a few issues worth mentioning for future guests.Check-in was smooth and easy. The staff member who assisted me was kind and courteous, which made for a great first impression. When I got to my room, I noticed what looked like sugar crystals on the comforter. It wasn’t a huge deal, so I just brushed it off, but it did make me question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. I paid a premium for a river view room, but was placed on a lower floor where the view of the river was minimal at best. It was a disappointing and unfortunate letdown. One of the more frustrating aspects of the stay was housekeeping—or lack thereof. I stayed from Sunday to Wednesday, and not once did anyone come by to do a turn-down service. No fresh towels or linens were provided during my stay, even though I saw housekeeping carts in the hallway multiple times. It was a bit frustrating that by the second day, the nice toiletries provided (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash) were already running low and needed to be refilled. However, since housekeeping never came by to clean or refresh the room, they were never replenished. Another thing to note is that the water pressure, which started off strong at the beginning of my stay, steadily decreased over the course of my visit. The self-parking situation was by far the most inconvenient part of the experience. While I really appreciated being offered free parking as a veteran, actually using the garage was a headache. My Caesars Rewards card consistently failed to register at the exit gates, and I had to use the call button for assistance every time. One of the lanes even had a broken call button, which made things worse. This added unnecessary stress, especially since I was already pressed for time trying to make it to reservations around the city.Aside from those issues, the hotel itself was great. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, and it’s a short walk to the French Quarter. The casino was fun, though the payouts weren’t particularly generous—typical, I guess! 😄Would I stay again? Possibly, but I’d definitely hope for some improvements in housekeeping and the parking system. I spent a significant amount on this stay, but unfortunately, the level of service didn’t live up to the price tag.
It's a beautiful hotel. I'm staying in the original one and it's still beautiful. The tubs are huge plenty of room. The tile is stunning and it's very clean. Very convenient to everything. It's just very hard with having a car.
Right in the heart of everything! The rooms are nice, didn't do well in the casino but that's just the luck of the draw! Great dinning options all over and throughout! Our room has amazing river front views to watch all the boats cruise by! Everything is within walking distance! There is an odd clunking noise not sure if its the elevators but it is kind of annoying to listen to all night and day but we aren't in the hotel much.
