Located in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Diamond Jubilee presents itself as more than just a typical casino. This establishment surprisingly blends the convenience of a gas station with a hot food eatery and a full-fledged casino, offering a multifaceted experience that garners a mix of enthusiastic praise and sharp criticism from its visitors.
For those looking to try their luck, Diamond Jubilee's casino floor is a central draw. Reviews highlight its commitment to customer comfort and convenience:
Customer service in the casino area is frequently lauded as "excellent" and staff as "very friendly." However, not all casino experiences are positive, with one user expressing significant frustration after spending "$200 in less than 10 minutes," leading to a resolve "will not comeback again." This illustrates the inherent risk and potential for rapid losses associated with gambling.
Beyond the casino, Diamond Jubilee is surprisingly celebrated for its hot food offerings, often described as a great spot for a quick and delicious meal. Visitors rave about the quality and value:
The general consensus points to "good food and prices are not bad," making it a recommended stop for a meal, even for those not primarily visiting for the casino.
Parking is noted to be readily available, with "enough marked parking for quite a few trucks," which is a significant plus for travelers.
However, the establishment's dual nature as a gas station and convenience store has led to isolated but impactful negative experiences. One long-time, frequent customer (visiting "prob 6 times a week" for "last 5 yrs") was deeply disappointed by a 50-cent credit card surcharge on a $3 beverage purchase, especially after a significant $80 fuel purchase. The staff's perceived indifference ("I don't care") led to a strong reaction, demonstrating how a small fee and poor customer interaction can erode years of loyalty.
Diamond Jubilee offers a diverse experience in New Orleans. It excels in providing a comfortable, 24-hour casino environment with attractive player perks and is a surprisingly good spot for affordable and authentic local hot food. While it generally boasts friendly and excellent customer service, some patrons have encountered issues, particularly concerning small transaction fees, that have soured their visits. Ultimately, Diamond Jubilee is a unique local establishment that caters to various needs, from a quick meal and fuel stop to an all-night gaming session.
Very friendly staff, the food was great, I had shrimp stew with rice, white beans and sweet potatoes with a soda for $9! Enough marked parking for quite a few trucks! Went back in for breakfast and glad I did! Biscuits were tender with great flavor, had a sausage egg and cheese!
Open 24 hours, rewards program, free well drinks as you play, draft beer, frozen margaritas & hunt brother pizza. Excellent customer service and great music. Very comfortable!!!
